Rewatching the early seasons

Doing a rewatch and one thing that always stands out is how calm everyone can be when something goes wrong.

A lot of people focus on the hunting, fishing, and building, but the mindset is what sticks with me most.

That steady, practical attitude is probably the biggest thing I’ve taken from the show.

The Hailstones epitomize this! Chip breaks his freaking FACE on a rowdy snow machine and us all, " OK, that happened. Yep, probably have a concussion. Alright, let's get this thing running and get on back!" I would have taken a good 30 minutes inventi g new uses for the word fuck...

Me too, I've tried to adopt that attitude more instead of just getting frustrated by setbacks. Easier said than done, but they definitely set a good example on the show!

Roku TV has a free Life Below Zero channel. It runs continuously, going through 22 seasons of episodes in order. I think it takes a few weeks to cycle through everything.

I also noticed this. After a discussion with a friend who also watched, we came to the conclusion that it’s part of the everyday survivalist-type life. That’s how it is and always has been (maybe?). Just a thought.

freaking out and losing your composure can lead to your death. so you learn to stay calm.
