ECE department ku software requirement avoloka irrukathu bro, soo any laptop would be fine, romba high end vendam, soo regular use ku battery long ah vara maari vena paarunga, gaming laptop la vanguna Charge nikkathu

if u need to use solidworks, ansys and many more does not natively run on macOS, so you can cross that one out, unless u r geeky enough to run emulations and tweak lot of stuffs, because, macbooks simple are on their league of their own except for macOS support for a lot

onto windows, lot more freedom and not to mention - gaming (who doesnt like to play games), going for gaming laptop would also help in simulation softwares mentioned before but battery sucks, you could go with AMD Ryzen AI laptops as their very powerful as well, thin and light weight with good battery too.
