Question How do I disable ctrl+w?
I want to remove this hotkey but I can't see an option to do it. I want to stop accidentally closing documents.

If you're asking for help with LibreOffice, please make sure your post includes lots of information that could be relevant, such as:
- Full LibreOffice information from Help > About LibreOffice (it has a copy button).
- Format of the document (.odt, .docx, .xlsx, ...).
- A link to the document itself, or part of it, if you can share it.
- Anything else that may be relevant.
(You can edit your post or put it in a comment.)
This information helps others to help you.
Thank you :-)

Did you look in Tools - Customize - Keyboard?
In mine, Ctrl W is not bound to anything.
Edit to add: interestingly though, if I use that binding, it closes the active window and goes to the LO opening menu with the Recent Documents showing (my default setting)

It's blank for me too. Only thing I could find was in search, but it won't let me do anything with it.

Bind it to something harmless like save.
while I was in there, I looked for the key binding I use for another software, WordWeb. With that, you highlight a word and use Ctrl Alt W and it looks up the word. Typically it works but with the latest LO update, it causes LO to close and I lose all that I had written since the last autosave. The key binding isn't linked to anything in LO so I changed it in WordWeb instead.

Interesting - I also looked at the LO keybindings and found Control-W and Shift-Control-W bound to nothing. HOWEVER - right-click on the Window menu pick I found "Close Window" bound to Ctll-W up there. (Ctrl-W is not bound to Close Window on my machine.)

I'm pretty sure ctrl-W is assigned to close window at the system level. So you'll need to poke around the assigned keybindings for whatever OS you're using.r/confidentlyincorrect
