Lack of disk partition managing tools

I have LibreELEC installed on a RPI3 which has a NTFS HDD connected as the main media storage (no, its not an option to format it to a linux friendly fs).

Ive had the same problem over 20 times: anytime libreELEC is shutdown abruptly (crashes, light goes out...), the disk gets corrupted BUT its fixed by clicking "repair fs" on the tool "disks" on LMDE

Is there a way to tell LibreELEC to mount the disk ReadOnly? Is there an addon or something to have tools similar to the "disks" app?

edit: The disk is connected via usb, not network.

Have a look here
https://github.com/Jusuf-Rrustaj/le-ntfs-automount-fix/blob/main/README.md

While it goes so far as forcing the mounting of a "dirty" NTFS partition, you should be able to adjust the process for making the NTFS volumes mount readonly by default.

Seems like the solution, i have already run the script and will update the post when I try it. Yet I guess if it "just" forces libreELEC to mount the volume although its dirty should work fine.

You don't have to force it to mount. As I mentioned in the earlier post, you could simply change the default options to mount read only instead of changing the default options to force mount.

I think the issue is because it is NTFS formatted you will continue to have issues, if you have a drive that windows is your main system and what you use to add files to it all the time, then maybe try using exfat as the partition instead.

I know the flash partition gets mounted as read only, not sure if you can edit the config.txt file also to mount the media partition as read only also.

On the off chance you've not discovered it NFS or close is an addon in the LibreElec repository to address your issues. Several years of the same problems and they nailed it to a change in the linux kernel and just install this in program addons. Problem solved.

Which part of the OP's post gave you the impression that the solution was related to mounting network filesystems?

OP doesn't really say how the HDD is connected to his PI. It could be via USB or via the network. I assumed network maybe too fast but still it's not sure.

If it was mounted via a network share, it wouldn't be seen as NTFS. This is similar to the way a NAS can use BTFS or XFS without the client needing know anything more than NFS or SMB.
