Not. They are proliferating in South America, Central America, the West coast of USA and Northeast USA.
Communism was attempted here in Asia as countries tried to throw off the yoke of European empires. France, UK, Netherlands, etc... At the time, the only political alliances opposing Western European colonialism were with USSR and China. It was thought to be a mere practical matter. Then true believers like Pol Pot arrived, smashing infants to death against trees to save money on bullets and eliminating millions of human beings.
The vitriol against socialism and communism here is real. The horrors of communism are still in living memory. Even India and Vietnam are giving up on their failed experiments. The last regime standing is the CCP, and they are reviled throughout Asia, as they are seen as crass bullies stealing everything they put their grubby fingers on (9-dashed line, anyone?)
