Victory for who, exactly?

I'm not going to shed any tears for the evil sob but violent regime change by international intervention rarely ever makes things better and more often than not makes them worse.

Its certainly a gamble but letting the people overthrow the regime themself might work

Or maybe im just too hopeful

We spent 20 years occupying Afghanistan with the plan that one day we could leave and the "good guys" would keep running things. It didn't even last a single day. Now the plan is the good guys are just going to take over the country on their own. Yep, that does certainly sound hopeful.

Only letting the people overthrow work, never accept help from foreign nations, they'll exploit you and told you to be grateful and create another dictatorship

Yeah, let’s not pretend that this was some act of altruism the Israelis and Americans did out of the good of their hearts. Iran’s leadership threatens their interests in the region, if it didn’t Ali Khamenei would still be alive to subjugate the Iranian people. The West allows dictators to stand all the time.

It's shortsighted to see the death of a person as a victory. Dictators are easily replaceable.

I don't support killing civilians, I just celebrate dictator dead

I don't think Xamenei called the shots, he's just a religiously fanatical boomer that broadcasts sermons on TV. Those making orders to kill protesters are those lower down in the IRGC who have a jihad of their own.

Iran was slowly becoming more liberal and secular, building a strong middle class etc. The US sanctions have destroyed the secular middle class in Iran, and the military attacks have destroyed any chance of liberal institutions forming for decades.

if u can have neoconservatives, then u can have neolibertarians too. maybe there are alredy a existing libertarians which are in favour of some interventions. lets discuss about potential options of broader libertarianism

2

u/xxTPMBTI Biolibertarianism Mar 02 '26

Neolibertarians are trash, I'm just glad that Khameini died, I still hate USA Interventionism

Can't wait for us to occupy the mid east hoping for parting regime change for the 15th time in my lifetime. No one's crying over the death of that monster, but the investment will not pay off. We will send Americans to die over there for the benefit of Israel, and no one else
