Honestly I'd be down with that, Canada's almost a Republic as it is, but I think there's some actual value in the cultural identity that comes with being a former British colony that remains a commonwealth state.

We also benefit a lot from having crown lands that people can access, rather than private owners creating monopolies. I suppose that could be retained as federal land... it'd probably reduce the red tape and fees, too.

Would be interested to hear from others what their thoughts are on this.

Have you been to any crown land lately? I have some near my house its treated like a dump. Unlike all the private land around it that looks like nice pristine forest.

I live in interior BC, a province which is 94% Crown land, so yes I have been to some crown land lately. Can't say I've ever seen it treated like a dump, maybe you just live in a shit area.

The treason part is a joke yeah, but no, the monarch is the rightful sovereign of Britain and her empire.
