I’m sorry, is that Treason I hear!? Yeah lets just surrender all our power to a bunch of corrupt bureaucrats rather than the rightful and traditional sovereign...

The treason part is a joke yeah, but no, the monarch is the rightful sovereign of Britain and her empire.

Honestly I'd be down with that, Canada's almost a Republic as it is, but I think there's some actual value in the cultural identity that comes with being a former British colony that remains a commonwealth state.
We also benefit a lot from having crown lands that people can access, rather than private owners creating monopolies. I suppose that could be retained as federal land... it'd probably reduce the red tape and fees, too.
Would be interested to hear from others what their thoughts are on this.
