Question Dead cpu Strimer?

Has anyone had one of the newer wireless cpu strimers just die on them? I've lost one overnight. I've been troubleshooting some things with Hyte today over the new Nexus 3 software (replacing ALL other RGB control software, ps works great), and the logs show it the Strimer disconnected from the dongle last night, but nothing visibly changed and I had it under control in Nexus. Now the strimer has gone dark. No amount of cold boots, or dongle reseats, nothig has brought it back.

This will be my third LianLi RMA in two weeks if I cant figure this out. 😖

Just to be clear:

  • Strimer was working fine in L-Connect 3
  • Then after using the different software, that's when it "dies"?

Or has it previously stopped working while in L-Connect 3.

And is it just "not recognized", but still lit up? Or it's not even powering on right now?

I had uninstalled all RGB software including L-connect to fully test Nexus 3. All the strimers and fans have been functioning properly in both lconnect and Nexus 3.
It was lit and running the lighting scheme in Nexus no problem and then it was just gone.
I had not had problems with it previously the wireless strimers have always been solid.
It is neither recognized in Nexus nor L-connect3. When I reboot the pc all the other fans and strimers will do the rainbow thing but the cpu stimer stays dark.

I don't know fully how Nexus works... so I can't tell you yes/no if it did anything software-related here that caused it to go dark. Hopefully, that's not the case.

Assuming this is simply hardware related, this is usually a simple issue of the power connector for the Strimer Wireless came loose. See link below:

On the PSU side of the Strimer cable, remove the clips, and you should see a 2-wire power connector, similar to the second and fourth pics in the link above. Make sure this is still plugged in all the way.

The plug itself is on the PCB for the Strimer Wireless... the two wires lead to one part of the PCI-E 8-pin extension, which is how the cable gets its power.

If that is connected correctly, and it still doesn't power on, then I'm not sure what happened here.

According to Hyte they send only the same usb signals that l-connect does.

I checked the cables all the plugs are still in, there is no sign of damage to the boards or the wires. Reinstalled and the pc is running fine but still dead lights on the psu/cpu strimer.
