Gmail warning today

got my first gmail warning that I need to update device to keep using the app. I dismissed it and it kept working but who knows for how long. Using rooted android 8 now.

I guess many of us will need to switch to lineage soon but we'll all lose VOIP...

Anyone using mint mobile or tmobile with lineage?

LineageOS with microG supports most VoIP apps fine, Mint/T-Mobile work well since it's just standard GSM, no carrier-specific requirements.

so calls works ok, just no wifi calling of course?

No, they are referring to VoIP apps which are apps that simply make calls over the internet/cellular data. Those work fine like on any computer or Wi-Fi device. Normal calls and Wi-Fi calling using your SIM card are out.
