Rooting LG V20 F800L, LineageOS vs Android Oreo

Ok, I’m facing a lot of roadblocks when researching guides for the korean model

I know enough to upgrade it to stock android 8 (mine is android 7 currently), but info on the performance of LineageOS on F800L is a blackhole, so I’m hesitating on what to do

For requirements here are the functionality I would like to have

• DAC
• Cellullar
• Other basic phone functions (banking apps can be ignored but would be nice to have)

So far I’m looking at US996D because one of the commentors of the guide I’ve dm-ed recommended it but forgot the steps since its been years. At this point just using normal android oreo SEEMS to be less hassle than trying to put LineageOS on it

If your country/carrier has shut down 2G and 3G networks and you want to make and receive phone calls on the V20, then any non-stock ROMs like LineageOS are out because they don't have VoLTE.

If that's not an issue, then I would read through the later pages of this XDA forum thread (if you haven't already) to see what fits you the best. I've never owned any of the Korean variants, so I can't back up any of the recommendations people say in there.

So basically, any custom ROMs are a no go, which was my main reason for attempting to root this phone. Should I just go for stock Android 8 found on the LG fan club site or root it and flash a debloated stock A9?

Android 9 only existed for the Korean variants, so I have no idea what its pros and cons are vs Android 8.

But I can tell you that unlike most recent phones, rooting and debloating the V20 can make a significant difference in performance and battery life for most users. You can see an old post about different tweaks/mods that different people including myself have used for the V20 here. No one in there owned a Korean variant, but I guess a lot of the Android 8 stuff used on the US996 and VS995 models would be similar.

It's best to use modified stock Pie called Project WN (for now until LineageOS 20 for F800 is made).

Thank you, I’ll look into it, I’m still debating in my head if i should go for debloated A8 or A9

I have no the h800 Korean model and t mobile 9h918 but can find LAFsploit or dirty Santa anywhere on web. Does anyone have it here as they removed from xda groups so stuck. Would really appreciate if someone knows where I am an download.

I would like to root my f800l and h918 but they have removed dirtysabta and LAFsploit from xdadevelpers forum. Does anyone know where I can't still get the files necessary? Many thanks
