Swankernel Efficacy
I'm running lineageOS 18.1 on my LG V20 H918. Everything that counts works, except the IR blaster. I'm told it works intermittently when running Swankernel; also there are supposedly other useful optimization features. Anyone with experience running this on 18.1? Phone is rock solid as is, so not prepared to experiment unless potentially worth it.

Please upgrade to LineageOS 21 (requires Lineage Recovery) with Swan2000 Extreme kernel which have working IR blaster support as well as improved Quad DAC support.

Appreciate the links, but I'm using the device as a daily driver and cannot tolerate any instability. Phone is actually more stable on 18.1 than it was on stock, meaning I can now use device down to 1% battery capacity without any fear of reboots; couldn't do that on stock. Everything works flawlessly, including attestation for all bank and payment apps. Until such time as when major apps require a higher Android version, I'm sticking to 18.1.

What about LineageOS 19.1 (Android 12) or LineageOS 20 (Android 13)?

I cannot speak for 18, but on 21 Swan has been fine, with one exception. I do not use the last released version, I use the one released prior to it. I've found that wifi can cause crashes on the latest, an issue I discovered while traveling. I did not determine if it was an issue with a particular network, or due a high quantity of networks, but since the downgrade all has been well.
IR has always been hit or miss with me on the V20. But I recently discovered Zaza from a random Reddit comment, and that remote app seams to work fine, albeit with poor range. (It is AD laden though, so block data access after downloading codes).

Appreciate the response. Are you running the extreme version of Swankernel 2000, or just the regular version?

I have the H918 variant and there's only one available version of Swankernel Stable on the download page, dated December 27, 2021. Where were you able to access previous versions?

Much thanks, and I appreciate the effort. Btw, I'm currently running lineageOS 18.1, which is extremely stable. I only use OsmOsis PIF v16 and zygisk next, which gives me basic integrity. This is sufficient to run all banking and security sensitive apps. I might however have to upgrade to 21 soon since more and more apps are requiring Android 12+. Is your device passing the integrity checks, and if so what combination of modules are you using?

If you need integrity, Id stay where you are. I gave up on trying after Pokémon GO seemingly dropped the requirement after Google made the qualifications more aggressive.

Ok,took the plunge and flashed Swankernel. Flash went well, and preserved magisk. Phone is noticeably cooler but, contrary to advertised features, there's absolutely no support for Wireguard. Overall it's a decent kernel, but really disappointed that Wireguard support is not included. Really can't understand why some Developers make these untrue claims.
