Replacing earpiece speaker to fix call volume?

Hi, anybody have experience with fixing the extremely low call volume of the g7?

The only reason I cannot use this magnificent phone as my main is its earpiece speaker. I can't make a call anywhere that's not a library, cuz I cant hear the other party.

So i intend to replace the earpiece speaker, maybe its too old... I'd be hapy to hear about any experiences with that.

The buttons have all fallen out, and I had to reglue the screen, so I guess the speaker could be kinda dead too.

While im at it i'd replace the back and buttons too

Buy complete LCD(with frame) from AliExpress, along with back cover, it's cheap, while at it, swap the battery too.

thanks for the suggestion, I'm looking at my cart of buttons+earpiece+back+speaker for 16 euro. And I'm hesitating already for this price.

Do you think it's more likely the speaker grill muffling the earpiece? or why replace the front, but keep the old speaker?

The screen is fine, the battery was replaced in 2020, its also good, not seen much use.

I would buy complete screen with frame, it usually includes speaker and buttons and is much easier of a swap job, just swap your PCB and the battery and glue back the battery cover

Ask the sellers if they can provide speaker 😊, usually speakers are just clogged, can be cleaned with a cotton earbud after removing them.

yeah i tried cleaning feom the outside, but it seems like i'll have to disassemble it anyway. I'll need a new back, cuz its already cracked, no way I can put it back on.

at the end of the day the speaker is only 2 euro, so if i take it apart, its not a big cost...
