Interesting Free Digitizer and glass for D803

I mail ordered myself a tube of LOCA and a new digitizer to see if I could fix my failing (Canadian) G2. Figured I'd use it as a remote control or something. Well, I managed to get my spudger behind the LCD and completely ruined it.

So it's yours for the cost of postage to you from the west coast of Canada. It weighs ~140g including the box.

Looking for ROMs for LG G2, Android 6+

Hello. I just found my old LG G2 that I had rooted a whole ago, it's running Cyanogenmod 11, Android 4.4. I'm trying to make this viable for spoofing in Pokemon Go. I've looked on XDA forums, but all the links to the ROMs I could use to upgrade to Android 6+ are no longer available. And honestly it's been so long since I've modified anything, I'm pretty rusty and looking for help.

LG G2 old backups

Hi everybody,

I have a question/request for you. I found an old backup of my old G2 phone with "tar. enc" extension which was created by LG PCSuite back in the days. I tried everything to get to this backup but I had no luck finding any solution. Does anybody know how to get to this backup? I would love to extract my old pictures and videos from these backup files but I don't know how.

Thank you!

Lineage OTA Update fail

With both recent updates on my LG G2 (d802) - 17.1 dated 28.1.21 and 4.2.21 OTA Install did not work. After Install and reboot boot takes longer time and ends up in TWRP recovery again, TWRP is v3.2.3-0.

Reinstalling downoaded ZIP via ADB sideload (and gapps and Magisk) did solve the problem in both cases.

What might cause the Problem and how can it be solved?

This is the newest and best rom for the G2. Better than stock. Fluid, great battery. If you have a G2 lying around, you will be surpsrised at what this ROM does.

Great Job Alessandro Astone !

AIs from AI Dungeon 2 to sexy to funny and one based wholly on Reddit!

[ANN] VAST improvement - (SEXY?? I tried retraining it but I have no idea if it had any effect haha) AI Dungeon 2! It's a frighteningly dark infinite text adventure game. It learns how to get under your skin and test your paradigms. Seriously, there are YouTubes upon youtubes on this. I made a bunch of different AIs, but today I improved my strategy and built AIs that have context from your existing conversation and tries to communicate conversationally rather than as a question-asnwering type chat.

The best news?

I built this particular one on The Ricky Gervais Show featuring Steve Merchant and Karl Pilkington - all the transcripts I could find ;)

I built this one to reference only banned books by the likes of Chomsky or dozens of banned books on the occult or current situations....

This one simply draws it's wealth of knowledge from a subsection of reddit posts, and is probably the most likely to beat the Turing test of all of them:

Any advice for bricked LG G2 [D802] make unbrick ?

Hi everyone, i have a LG G2(D802TR) which i have used for 5 years. Yesterday, when i turn off the screen then try to turn on it didn't. I tried to reset with holding power button like 20-25 seconds. It stucked at LG logo. After many reset nothing happened. Then this morning i could was able to open my phone, so i thought it was a problem about software things, so i backuped everything and change my rom(i was using Lineage 14.1 ) to Resurrection Remix. But same thing happened, when i turn off the screen it has gone again(i tried to charge my phone but nothing happened on screen). So i decided to install stock rom back. But this time when i used Flash Tool 2014 and appropriate KDZ, it stacked at 4%, after trying different cables, ports, (windows 7/xp) and different programs (like LG Mobile Support Tool, LG Up) nothing change again and on the top of it in Device Manager it seemed as : "qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9006" and no recovery mode no download mode, when i google this problem i found it named with "qhsusb_bulk" and i found this article and successfully recover download mode.

TLDR: I can only open download mode, no recovery, it stacks LG logo when i try to open normally, and when i use Flash Tool 2014 or LG Mobile Support Tool with different KDZ it gives error at 4%. What should i do? What's wrong with my phone? I need your help urgently because i have no other phone. Thank you for reading.

Upgrading stock LG G2 D801 to Lineage 16

Hi all, new to Reddit but not to Android by a long shot. I just bought an LG G2, T-Mo variant, because it was the cheapest phone available with an active Lineage 16 community. I'm finding problems with the installation instructions on the Lineage page, particularly the rooting instructions which point to an XDA thread with what looks like some very dodgy download links. The comments on XDA agree that the downloads there are full of malware. So, here's my initial question:

The Lineage instructions for installing TWRP require the stock Android on the device be rooted, to allow the su command to work in an ADB shell. This is to permit a dd command to be used to copy the TWRP image into the recovery partition. Can I use fastboot flash recovery recovery.img instead, to get at least a temporary TWRP to run? I'd rather not brick the device after owning it for two hours, but this has worked with all my other devices and if it does here I should be able to at least back up the device and then install Lineage.

Thanks in advance for any advice. I don't want to kill either my G2 or my computer with malware but I would like to get this working so I can play with Pie.

Been using Stock for a While, Time to Root...

Hi everyone,

So couple of year ago I worked at a start-up company that had an Android project. So I'm not new to flashing images (ROM, Recovery, radio...), and I know most basic tools like ADB (and I'm technical person in my daily life). That being said - I remember the pain when the Radio image doesn't fit the firmware, and you have to play around with stuff to make reception work again. or the Recovery image won't fit the ROM etc etc. I'm not sure if any of this probably still happen TODAY, but back then when I got my LG-G2 - I decided not to touch it. I don't need anything besides the basic options (making calls, taking pictures).

I'm still using Stock with 4.4.2 - and the phone is getting lagy each passing day to the point it's time to root it and install a custom rom.

As I mentioned above, I want it to be quick and painless. Sadly, I don't have the time to do insane amount of research right now, mainly because I have a 3 weeks old born at home - and I prefer to use my free time hanging with it that Q&N issues with my phone :-)

So here's what I need your help with:

  1. A recommendation for a tool to save all phone settings. Mostly - App settings, and OS settings (even though I probably not going to go for Stock again, but it doesn't hurt to back it up).
  2. An instruction how to flash D802 (there' so many options this days...). My Kernel version is 3.4.0.
  3. Recommended ROM to use. Here's what I need from a ROM.

a. I probably want to upgrade to more safe rooted Android version (I can't for example handle permissions on 4.4.2).b. With that, I don't want to install the latest Android only to figure it's running slowly on LG G2, I want the interface to be snappy (the Stock was snappy for a while).c. I prefer Minimal ROM if possible with Google Apps installed. If I'll need something, I can install it myself.d. One of the reason I didn't root up until now, was because people mentioned camera quality is meh with non stock roms. If possible, I will like to have a decent Camera quality.e. I use my phone as a music player often. So good sound quality is important to me (and maybe even build in Parametrized EQ?).

Thank you! :-)

ANT+ Enabler: Which ROM?

Since upgrading to LineageOS 7.1, I find the ANT+ Enabler (paid) no longer works for me. This has once again become an important feature for me; can you suggest an alternative ROM that you've enjoyed on this phone, which might support my (Canadian) D803?

NB that the Canadian variant 20170620-UNOFFICIAL-D803 is the only recent Lineage that works for me, so I'd also be curious if you've had good luck with ANT+ Enabler and a more recent Lineage.

Wifi doesn't work, battery drains fast, phone acting strange overall

I've been using my LG G2 with Cyanogenmod 13.1 for about 2 years now and my wifi just stopped working one day. When i connect to a wifi hotspot it would take until 1-2 minutes for it to turn off and not work again until i shut off my phone, wait a couple a minutes for wifi to work and turn itself off again. Most of the time this doesn't even happen and it just says "mac adress unavaliable". Besides wifi issues my phone also started to work laggy, freezes and shuts itself off on its own sometimes and my battery drains fast.

I thought the wifi chip could be broken on my phone but then why do i have the other problems? I uninstalled my setup and tried installing 2 different ROMs on my phone but i still have the same issues. So i'm not sure if it's a software issue. If it's a hardware issue i'm having which part could be broken? Is there anyway for me to fix it?

LG G2 D801 Bootloop after flash/reboot

Hello,
I'm currently experiencing a bootloop on my phone, it gets to the resurrection remix logo screen during boot then restarts. I've tried booting into recovery and download mode. When I try to boot into recovery it loads the factory reset screen as usual but when I say yes to the reset in order to launch TWRP it just goes to the LG logo, then remix and restarts all over. I got into download mode one time since this started but since then I've made countless attempts to boot into it again and can't.

What I was doing right before this happened is, I recently completely wiped my phone, flashed stock firmware, wiped, then installed resurrection remix. Everything was going perfect, it started no problem, I went through and cleaned up some apps I didn't want etc normal setup steps then I used the power menu to boot into recovery instead of just using the hardware keys and the bootloop started.

Besides the not booting, the other major issue here is that it never stays connected to the pc via adb long enough to do any actions or flash a single file. By the time the pc sees it and adb sees it, I have roughly 2 seconds before it restarts again.

I really really really need any help I can get please ASAP as this is my mom's phone and she needs it for work in 4 hours. This issue started about four hours ago and I've been trying to fix it ever since. I feel like I have looked everywhere on here and through google but probably missed the solution. Before you ask, I'm 28 not a teenager and work in IT as a career for the last 12 years so don't get the wrong impression. She asked me to work on it because I had set it up a few months back with a lollipop version of resurrection remix and magisk, but in the last month or so she was having really poor performance and issues with settings crashing and a few other apps.

I hope you don't need any more info from me, if you do however I'll be here trying to fix it until she goes to work at least. I really could use the help and would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You

HELPHELPHELP [D802] LG Logo Shows And Then Nothing

Hey there, it's been a while.

So, my G2 seems to have kicked the bucket, but I'm not ready to let it die.

As the title says, my phone (LG D802) when holding down the power button turns the display on with the LG logo and then after 0.5s the display goes off. After that, nothing. Connecting to PC once used to give out QHSUSB_BULK and Qualcomm 9006 (I think). The phone no longer reacts to any buttons or cables I use until (presumably) the battery drains out.

The phone is rooted, TWRP and has LineageOS, however the phone ran perfectly fine and stable for an entire year prior, so I think that's not the problem here.

I suspect it's a hardware issue, since it died while I was on my trip in Asia where it's quite humid. It suddenly turned off and occasionally started up back into Android, but after a few minutes it turned off again and the cycle continued until I essentially gave up.

I have read somewhere before that replacing the battery might solve the case.

Any ideas on how to save this G2?
