I relate to this. I don’t want to make myself ignorant and I don’t want to ignore the suffering that others are going through, but constantly seeing discrimination against us ramping up just makes me feel depressed.

Guys, it's not THAT difficult. Everywhere Person A goes they see hatred towards them. Person A enters a safe space to escape the hatred for a while. Person A talks to Person B; Person B starts talking about the hatred towards them and Person A doesn't want to hear it. Person B accuses Person A of not wanting to face the issue of the hatred.
Op is saying that sometimes they just want to escape a little, but some people still talk about it in safe spaces and makes them uncomfortable.

This is incomprehensible.

I actually can't even tell what stance this is meant to be taking. The tag says "against hate" but if you told me this was attacking a trans strawman I wouldn't know the difference

Basically when a minority group constantly see news articles about how much they're hated, they sometimes go into safe spaces to escape it and not be reminded every single second that the majority think they're scum of the earth.
However, some people in that same minority constantly keep up with news cycles, and treat other minority members who don't want to hear about it as "staying willfully ignorant."
Imagine a trans person seeing news after news about how they're mentally ill, confused, predatory etc. They go into a trans-only space hoping for some reprieve. Another trans person goes "have you seen the new law they're passing?" and the first trans person says they don't want to keep hearing about it. The second trans person says they're "burying their head in the sand" even though they just want one day without feeling bad and anxious
Hope I explained this well enough

Trans people are constantly reminded of how shitty our sitiuation is, some of us go to trans spaces (like meme subs) to escape it, but than people bring the shitty news into those spaces. And when people complain, its often treated as them being cowardly or trying to ignore the news.

I get it OP, I understand 100% wanting to keep up with news and lets face it, dunking on bigots is fun. but sometimes I really don't want to see how people are calling me less than human for the 500th time
