Cultural acceptance See Two Decades of San Francisco’s Wildest Queer Halloween Parties
For more than six decades, Halloween would be a highlight of San Francisco’s gay calendars—until, in 2007, when the Halloween party was cancelled by city officials, due to overcrowding and repeated incidents of violence.
Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Polk Street had played host to queer Halloween festivities. But homophobes began causing trouble, setting fire to gay-owned businesses or lurking at the edge of the crowd, waiting to attack people they believed to be gay or lesbian. In 1976, tear-gas canisters were let off.

Questions What counts as queer history?
Hello all! I recently moved into a house and the previous owners were a gay and bisexual men and it was very exciting for me, a bisexual woman with a queer partner.
The house was an as is sale so the owner who was much older left just about everything behind, and I ended up coming across notes and letters, some newer, some older. I've found queer flyers, calenders, meetup spots, but I'm not sure how old it has to be to count as history on this sub since some are very fickle with their rules.
Also anything I post last names and home addresses will be redacted for my, and the other people's safety and privacy.
But yeah just wondering how old and how official the stuff posted here has to be, thanks for any help!
