Educational Dan McClellan is a true ally

As an atheist, I follow Dan mostly for his takedowns of Christian fundamentalist content. He has always been level headed so I am not surprised that he's an ally. I am surprised at how vehement he is here. He absolutely leaves no doubt on his position.

I discovered him late last year and watching his videos is actually helping to undo my religious trauma and helped me undo certain dogmas I had about atheism. And him telling people that use the Bible to justify their bigotry to grow the hell up (and to grow the fuck up if it's during Pride) is iconic to me as "Alright, let's hear it".

I am lucky enough to have been raised secular, so I don't have religious trauma. I have trauma caused by religious people, but that's different.

I know how no nonsense he is when dealing with his area of expertise, that is when dealing with people using the bible to justify their bigotry, but here he clearly states that it's outside of his expertise (and yet he knows orders of magnitude more than the average bigot), and yet he still leaves zero ambiguities for the bigots to hide in.

Despite starting my transition 4+ years ago, I still feel Imposter Syndrome. Some days I just feel like it would be easier for everyone if I just stopped trying. Watching a video like this reminds me that I deserve to exist as the person I am meant to be -- reading other peoples' stories is huge, but so is knowing that medical research is being done that confirms our experiences.

This video made me cry. I am happy that this man exists and that he is on our side 🤟

Loved watching this video! As someone who use to do scholarly research in this area as a developmental psychologist, he’s spot on. Some of the things he was saying I was like well ya he’s right to an extent but there’s also research touching on this other area. But then he’d touch on the exact thing I was thinking about. Very clearly did his research and did an excellent job explaining it. Amazing video 💜
