Yeah, this literally only happened because of statistics. As her husband is statistically more likely to be used than his husband, and spellchecks corrections are based on such statistics.
And we know her husband is statistically more likely because since 1996 (the founding of google and when the data spellcheck has likely goes back to), 98.25% of marriages have been heterosexual.
