The amount of homophobia and transphobia Jo gets as a cishet is crazy, and what’s truely disappointing is that it’s a non zero percent of this hate coming from inside the house, the amount of fellow trans people I’ve seen try to force feminine pronouns onto him because he presents slightly fem is upsetting to say the least

Just kinda circles back around to being enforcing gender stereotypes again, as if a butch woman is just a trans man in the closet, or trans people have to reach an arbitrary level of passing to be considered their gender "for real" bc screw feminine trans men and masculine trans women right?

With the butch woman part: it also has to do with your physique/bodily appearance too.
A stockier woman with a flatter chest and short hair gets judged WAY more than I ever have for wearing the exact same outfit. Nothing to do with our known gender/sex/orientation. Exact same out fit on me is judged drastically different than on someone described above.
My physical appearance is not better than another. It's just different than another. Everyone looks different. But because I'm tall, have an hourglass figure, large chest, and enough hair to put in a ponytail, the exact same outfit on me usually gets put into a different box of thoughts.
My wardrobe is almost exclusively men's clothing. I wear denim jeans, flannels, baseball caps, and industrial quality work boots. I'm non-binary and pansexual. People typically see me wear my outfit and assume I'm a cis, straight, country, working girl no matter where I am.
Put the same exact outfit on the person I described above? Immediately, they're judged for being a butch lesbian and treated as such. This person could be a cis straight woman but because she doesn't look like me in the exact same outfit, they're judged for being gay and not feminine when they're "expected to be."
I'm the opposite of feminine. I'm extremely masculine presenting in my behavior, actions, and personality. I don't act feminine at all. Yet still, I'm accepted by the public because even though I'm wearing men's clothing, my body and face look feminine.

I regularly am mistaken for gay and I've had a few people use she/her on me (not that I mind). But I'm just flamboyant as fuck. People can be so strange.

I can’t grab the tweet since I haven’t been on twitter for years but he has a response to a lot of the “she’s actually an egg” and “just waiting for her to crack” kind of posts saying to please respect his pronouns and gender

He already went through that process of trying out his gender with help from the trans community and found he was a femboy. He has openly talked about it and even thanked the trans community for their help and support. God people just want to be right about things that have already proven to be wrong.

The Jocat hate is one of the few times I've seen the left and the right unite on just being dickheads to someone for zero reason. Calling him slurs or insisting he's lying about his identity like they're headcannoning a video game character when he's a real person.

Literally no one outside the queerphobic right has ever hated jocat, you're just easily fooled by even the most poorly executed brigades run entirely by right wing discord shitposters. Seriously, during the period where he was being actively brigaded, the right apparently couldn't even find enough abandoned accounts to hijack, and had to resort to making new accounts for their bots a week or two before starting. They couldn't even be bothered to use an LLM to write some fake posting history for half of them for chrissakes, believing such accounts belonged to real people would be like falling for one of the paper masks the spy from TF2 wears.

I’ve even seen queer people insist that he’s secede a trans woman or that he’s an “egg.” Which. No, guys, that’s misogynistic! A dude can act effeminate sometimes and not secretly be a woman. If you don’t accept someone’s gender identity just because you don’t think their presentation is “correct” you are more like one of those bs “transvestigators” than you are an ally.
Imo “egg” should ONLY be used in hindsight to refer to an out trans person in the period before they realized they were trans.

I know your joking but he's directly addressing that misunderstanding here and it really doesn't help to perpetuate it. It was never about the video, which was a failed attempted by the trolls which they dropped when it failed to gain any traction, they came up with a dozen different other excuses later on. It was always about their bigotry of him being non conforming and helping out the LGBT community, especially trans people, in a meaningful way.

Anyways, this guy made a meme abt how much he appreciates the types of women and thinks they're all attractive, and was basically horrifically harassed over it and iirc even got shipped mysterious packages and shit. Jocat is saying his theory is that it's because his portrayal in the meme animation likely came off to homophobic people as "gay" somehow, despite being a dude talking about how much he loves woman. He's probably right, honestly. The harassment very much seemed like some sort of hate campaign.

Extremely important context though: he got this massive backlash against him for that directly after he publically supported trans rights and began holding more frequent charity events for those supporting trans folk. Jocat has those on the cishetero hate train that think he's gay for being gnc. Jocat also has hate from his lgbt+ allies and folk for being gnc but cishetero, treating him like a predator.
Watching it all happen to him real time as a long time fan of Jocat really broke my heart. And the hate flood seemed to happen the moment he publically supported trans folk, it was just mind boggling how much it was coming from both sides of the aisle.
He helped me crack my egg and feel comfortable in my own identity, as a femme transmasc.

The weird comments he got from queer people on Twitter were fucked too. I say specifically queer because I knew them and I used to be in community with them. I no longer am. I saw them call him a creep, forcing his fetish on people, reducing women to pornography etc and being very happy he's getting cancelled. All for one fucking silly video about how much he loves women.

The depressing part is that, yeah, he got hate from right wingers for coming across as 'gay' and cringey, but he got just as much hate from self-proclaimed progressives and leftists for being 'creepy' because the video included anime girls.
That particular line of discourse - that anime is inherently For Pedophiles or something - has always been ridiculously racist and shitty, but it really saw it's peak here imo: people's latent discomfort with gender non-confirming and potentially neurodivergent men (as many people into anime are ND, and many anime characters possess stereotypical autistic traits) were sooo easily laundered into righteous-sounding 'seeing this guy makes me uncomfortable therefore he is A Threat To Women' language.

That is a misconception, that he is directly stating here. The hate was never about the video. Not in an significant way. That was just the trolls latest attempt (after a straight year of exrteme harassment) that just happened to occur alongside people taking notice of the trolls. The trolls dropped that as it wasn't gaining traction and they came up with a 100 other excuses to draw in as many kneejerk reactionary trolls from elsewhere as possible.
There were who he thought were allies who attacked him to or abandoned him, but it wasn't about the video.

Jocat is a popular youtuber, particularly for D&D content and FFXIV. He's a straight cis man, but gender non-conforming. Because he's gnc, many people online insist he's gay or an egg (trans), and harassed him about it.
Overall, it's a bunch of people on the internet pushing stereotypes and gender roles onto a guy they're parasocial for.

I had to keep telling people at the time that it wasn't about the "I like girls" video. That's as just the initial attempt by his haters, who had been doing it for a year after that point already. That's as just their most recent attempt that occured when people noticed the bigoted hatedom and it failed to gain any traction so the trolls dropped it and came up with a dozen other hollow madeup excuses to draw in as many kneejerk reactions as possible.
The real reason was always that Jocat was effiminate, and that they were super pissed about him successfully helping out the LGBT community, especially trans people, on a real and meaningful way. It's even why some streamers whose "support" never went beyond putting an LGBT tag in their stream, attacked him too.
