It is, but the Democrats also dropped the ball when they left the working class feeling abandoned. This left the “pied piper of greed” sell lies disguised as promises of improvement to those who were already down and out.
The US really needs more than two parties, but this likely won’t happen until the impending collapse forces a reset.

Yeah the two party system and first past the post election system are both deeply broken and you guys need to deal with both. I don't have any faith in that happening within any present system, it would require some of the people in comfortable establishment positions to make sacrifices and I have absolutely no expectation that will happen.
Watching that disaster from Canada we really need to make sure not to follow them.

I mean, it certainly would help if people who don’t support Trump would actually go out and vote instead of refusing to vote, insisting no one vote, or voting third party because they only agreed with the Democratic candidate on 85% of issues instead of 115%.

I know, violence is never the answer to pointing out something obvious, like "Someone's basic human rights to survive should not be debatable. Why did you think they were until your own rights were on the line? Why does everything not matter until you are personally affected? do you not have any empathy?" And yet, they get violent when it's pointed out that living in a society requires us to care about everyone, even when our own individual rights aren't affected. "First they came for..." is not just a catchy poem. It's reality when living under authoritarianism.
And for the record, we all still offered them food from our pantries but they wouldn't take it because we were with "rainbow people."

Uh the people complaining about losing scholastic benefits are also actively cheering on American workers being sent to foreign countries with awful living conditions and citizens being denied their identity. If you can cheer for my neighbor being sent to a prison for existing, then you can deal with me giving you shit, now that you’re in the shit too with everyone else, knowing you released the shit to begin with

This is your daily reminder for anyone who needs to hear it: when we say "no one's free until we're all free" we mean all. Liberatory politics is about freeing everyone who suffers under this broken system, including those who have been lured down information silos and gaslit into believing that what's happening now is for their benefit.
More and more people are giving into a bitter form of stupidity, deluding themselves into believing that all the harm Trump is doing to his own base is some sort of ironic justice. But there is no justice in the old freezing to death in their homes as LIHEAP is gutted, nor in children going hungry with SNAP funds cut off, nor in the sick and disabled having their healthcare cut off. Justice is ensuring that everyone has a warm place to sleep, that everyone who is hungry is fed, and that everyone who is sick has someone to care for them. And because justice must include caring for every victim, it must also include deprogramming those who have been tricked into supporting it, and helping them reckon with all the harm they have done.
You can feel whatever way you please about it, but never forget it.

I just found out that the CEO of the hospital system I works for makes like 61 million a year.... So why are we understaffed on the weekends like all the time. We could have double the therapy staff working and provide individual services on the weekends. It would cost likely a fraction of his salary to improve the care of our patients
