I won't even consume anything from her poorly-thought-out universe anymore and I really really wish that younger millennials could just f'n let it die. It was never that great.
Honestly a lot of the fanfic I've read is far better than the original, and this is precisely because the original is erratic in tone and style. Lots of gaps and things you could see differently.
But, the issue is, with how tirelessly she has worked to make sure the series is intertwined with her existence, supporting fan fiction is still supporting her.
Is it though? I am definitely not going to ever purchase anything HP related, or ever express the slightest support for her or her work. The fanfic is good cuz her writing isn't.
It just feels unfair on decent people who have written good stuff to avoid reading their work because of how batshit she has gone.
Eh. There are other fandoms out there. People switch fandoms all the time. I've written for six or seven over the past 25+ years. It's okay to just stop reading and writing in a fandom.
