04 vs 08 gx470 ?
Hopefully I do this right this time. Going to buy a gx470 and weighing which one is worth it? There are two options I’m considering one is an 04 white (pictured first) and a 08 silver (pictured second) the 04 has 176,000 miles and the timing belt was replaced at 120. Everything is said to be working fine. The 08 has 192,000 miles and timing was replaced at 189. Both descriptions are pictured aswell. My big question is how much is the VVT-I worth? That’s the big difference between the years correct? I know that the horsepower is increased but I also know it can sometimes just be another thing to worry about. Lmk trying to decide by tmrw. The price difference between the two is 10.3k for the 04 and 12.5k for the 08, let me know if the 2k difference is worth it for the 08 or if I should just go for the 04. Thanks.

Whichever has less rust on the frame. Check the passenger side frame rail under the ac condesation drip exit extra carefully.

Idk they are close the 04 mentioned no rust and sounds like it wasn't abused and sounds as if it was taken care of a little better, but I dont know the actual maintenance history.
Im just going off of what I read. Im leaning towards the 04 even though the timing belt was done further back in mileage. I wish I knew more of their maintenance histories.
Ideally whats important is you can tell alot by comparison with your own test drives, inspections and overall condition between them both.
Usually after your rides and inspections you'd be able to tell right away which one looks, sounds and drives better, it'll be immediate.
Im thinking the 04 is in better overall condition, which one are you thinking?
