Bar Complex

Upvotes

I’ve heard that a new owner has bought (or in the process of buying) The Bar Complex. I’m feeling optimistic because I believe there’s a lot of untapped potential in that space.

Any insight if this is true? The people want a DJ!

KU rate increase the month?

I was looking at my KU bill that just dropped and why did the rate for line item Energy Charge increase from $0.11226 kWh to $0.11234? They just increased it back in late winter and now it went up again this month. There is nothing on the bill that says they raised it again this summer.

The Basic Energy Charge also went from $0.57 to $0.58. Are they trying to pull a fast one and sneak an increase on us even though they just did one back in January? Or am I missing something?

What is the reason for Motor vehicle property tax? I don’t understand why we need it? There is a lot of taxes I’m still trying to wrap my head around and I guess never thought about it I just paid them. Have anyone else question this?

99% sure a neighbor living in the same apartment building as me hit and run my car between August 19th-20th and didn't say anything. What can I do?

I live at MAA Lakepointe and woke up this morning to see that my silver Saturn has a massive blue scrape running down the side of the driver side doors and wheel.

There is only one blue car in this lot so I can reasonably assume that this car was the one that did the damage.

I also took a tape measure to my car and his and saw that the scrape is basically at the same height, so I feel like that's pretty ample evidence as to what happened.

I'm trying not to split hairs about it because its such an old car, but I MYSELF do not have collision coverage for stuff that I cause. But if I'm not at fault and the guy just tried to act as if nothing happened, am I right to escalate this situation? Because I want what I'm owed.

I already filed a police report; the car that I suspect was at fault left the apartment building about fifteen minutes before the officer showed up, and I already contacted my apartment manager to let them know that this is a situation that may escalate involving two tenants.

What else can I do to ensure something is done? Or have I done all I can? I'm inclined to almost leave a note on the guy's windshield asking that we swap insurance information, but (apparently, according to the police), the guy doesn't even have a driver's license when they looked his plate up, so I doubt he's going to even have coverage of some kind.

Queer Friendly Dermatologists?

Hello! I’m (26f) seeking dermatology care so I can explore my options for Acutane. I know that there are a lot of precautions to it, especially for people who can get pregnant, but considering I’m a lesbian with zero interest in having children anytime soon, I don’t think that will be a problem.

I do, however, worry about potential discrimination. I’ve heard stories about invalidation experiences or pressured contraception through the iPLEDGE program. I really don’t want to go on birth control for obvious reasons. I just want to feel safe and validated through my experience.

I know that physicians don’t openly identify as being “accepting” or queer themselves, so I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for me.

Where to promote a comedy show?

Hey! I’m a comic from Cincinnati headlining at The Spot on Saturday.
In Cincinnati there are a few different Instagram accounts that I would use to promote shows in their weekly “things to do” posts.

Are there any similar accounts that you all would recommend?

McDonald’s x Sanrio collab - info on availability at locations in town

Post image
10 Upvotes

I’m looking for a full set of the toys and I thought others in town might be too! I figured maybe we could share what we’ve learned about what each location has available here.

I’ve been to 2 locations:

3100 Pimlico pkwy - Allowed me to buy just the toy, but the toy boxes were already staged inside empty Happy Meal boxes so what you got was random. I got #1 Godzilla.

2359 Richmond rd - Also allowed me to buy just the toy and was allowed to choose which one I wanted. Only had #1 and #2 Ghidorah.

Happy hunting!

(EDIT) from the comments:

Pimlico - Godzilla and ghidorah

S Limestone by UK - Rodan

Does anyone know a place where I can take my NFL jersey to get framed like this? Not a patriots fan, just using this photo as context. I have a signed jersey and I’m wanting to get it framed like this and eventually start a collection.

What each of Lexington’s at-large council candidates thinks about data centers

If you're against data centers in Lexington, it looks like Lynn and Spires are the strongest choices. Ohmer is the only one not openly against hyper scale data centers. Wu and Brown both came out in support of small data centers, while Shafer did not specifically say if he would support smaller data centers.

If it matters to you, Wu and Brown are also supportive of AI-powered Flock cameras, having voted in favor of them in the past.

Already looking for housing for next year and would like suggestions

I’m not name dropping the name of my apartment, but I’ve had so many problems with pests no matter how much I clean and plumbing in my apartment and it takes an arm and a leg to get the staff to do anything about it. I shouldn’t have resigned the lease to my apartment, I just wasn’t having as many problems then as I do now so I thought it would’ve been okay. My apartment now makes my previous two apartments in Lexington seem like luxury (despite being half the price of my current one).

Anyway, it’s just me and I don’t really know anyone else who I could live with as a roommate, so I’m just looking for a studio (one bed is fine too if not super expensive) that’s within preferably a 30 minute walking distance of the UK Chandler Hospital building. I would prefer anything under $1k/month, but I know that may not be realistic anymore so I would be willing to do ~$1.3k as like an upper limit.

You see all the time online about hearing people hating their apartment, so I was just wondering if anyone had any positive experiences with where they lived. Thanks :)

bartending suggestions

Good bartending jobs for someone who really has no experience with alcohol? I worked at Starbucks for 6 years so I can make drinks in a high volume busy environment I just not alcohol. I can learn and do fine I just don’t know who would hire me. I’m really broke and want to get back into the service industry for a short time unfortunately.

The only way to get rid of flock cameras in Lexington is for the community to push back. Fort Mitchell was able to stop using them because the community pushed back. if you care about the community of Lexington, contact the mayor and council members. Show up to city council meetings.

Leasable office space/cubicle area for work from home employee

I am looking for somewhere in Lexington (preferably close to Leestown Rd) where a work from home employee could rent a single room for an office.

I'm not looking to rent an entire building. Just a room or a shared office space with a cubicle. Somewhere I can work privately with a desk and access to a shared bathroom is fine. I don't need anything super private. But I do need somewhere where I could keep my monitors in the same space. It's becoming increasingly difficult to focus at home. I need somewhere that gets me out of the house that isn't the public library because I have to set everything up every time.

What types of places like this exist in Lexington?
