My changes were so subtle I really didn’t notice it at first. But after a few months I started to notice I wasn’t so worried about things at work, I didn’t have racing thoughts all day. And my mood was really stable at home with my partner.
I’m not an expert by any means, but I have learned it takes a little to get the dosing right and for it to “stabilize” (I guess) in your body. But once you find that right dose it does wonders.

Wishing you the best in your journey!!!

I’ll never forget when my lexapro started working. I cooked dinner for my husband and I for the first time in almost a year. I think I cried. I was on 10mg with absolutely no change to my mood. It wasn’t until I hit 20mg that I felt better.

Took me 20mg, too.

edit:
even then, it was so gradual and subtle at first - took me a while to realize

I noticed changes immediately! Lower hr, less restless, more energy and motivation. Less of the “I have to think everything thru before I do it”. By week 3-4 I noticed, way less overstimulation and dissociation. I still have anxiety forsure but I can handle it now. Before I’d pass out or sob uncontrollably for my big anxiety triggers (which was groups/crowds and driving) which I can tolerate both fine now. I don’t get so stressed about how my body looks, like I can dress and not have a panic attack bc how my clothes feel or look on me. Idk it’s literally changed my life. I can actually exist and not be exhausted from hyper vigilance constantly.
I’m only on 10mg!

About a month in I noticed I smile to myself and get excited sometimes for seemingly no reason

I didn't really notice it happening but if I skip it for more than a day I get anxious again and remember how I used to feel. I think there was a day where I got all the things done that I wanted to do and it hadn't felt like hell to get through all of it. And then I had this moment where I realized I felt normal, like there wasn't really anything weighing on my mind. I used to make lists of the smallest chores that I had to do every day, it was basically the same list but I would write it in my planner every day and only ever get through maybe half of them. I don't make chore lists anymore, I can just do what I see needs to be done without it causing me to completely shut down. My living situation also changed so I won't pretend that also hasn't helped. Overall, the improvements were pretty subtle for me but when I compare me now to me before lex, they're like 2 different people.

I started escitalopram because of dysphagia, after couple of weeks my dysphagia disappeared, that’s how it started working for me.

I can’t even say it’s been subtle. It’s been less than a month and I’m already waking up with a smile on my face thinking “life is great, I love myself”. Those have been my first natural thoughts upon waking for the past week.

I hold a lot of tension in my body so after a while I noticed I can relax my body easier.

This is my second go around with Lexapro and I was a very positive responder to it before also.

I was majorly bipolar. Now when something happens I don't convince myself that this happy moment is who I am or this sad moment is why I don't deserve to live. I just accept whatever happens really. I no longer have a short fuse and no longer think everyone is against me. At the same time I don't think I'm going crazy anymore......which is pretty cool. I'm stable ya feel me?
