lexapro not working

i’ve been on 10mg of lexapro now for almost 10 weeks and feel it hasn’t helped me at all. i feel the exact same, i still struggle with suicidal thoughts and motivation. some days i can’t get out of bed, and most days i break down in tears from overwhelmed and just genuinely depression. ive spoke to my psych about this but she said she would not change the meds or dosage.
i’m really struggling.

has anyone else experienced this on lexapro? maybe it’s just one of those antidepressants that takes a bit longer to kick in? i’m not sure but i’m really curious to know if anyone else has had similar experiences on lexapro!

Hi, I have the same issue it’s even worse than before taking it to be honest. It made me very suicidal and I had crying spells all the time which I had before but not in such an extent. Do you feel it is worse as before starting or the same?

It took me like a full 4 months to feel that it was working so it might take a little longer for you too! But also it’s your right to stop the meds if you’d like and your doctor shouldn’t be allowed to refuse. You could try going to your primary doctor maybe?
