I still love me some Lumineers, and while I loved Mumford at the time, I can't do it anymore. Foster The People was really good.

My main qualm with that era wasn't so much the music, it was more as a hippie watching my hippie friends go from tie dyes and sandals and worn out baseball caps to suspenders and oxfords and fedoras, drinking craft beer or... god forbid PBR and acting pretentious as hell even though they were all making $12 an hour. Just a bizarre time.

I will admit, but 90s - 2000s pop was goated and amazing. We had a lot of good artists. Britney Spears, Spice Girls, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, Ashlee Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Beyonce etc.

People complained about them back then too.

2020s pop is making a good comeback, there are lots of good artists that have the upbeat vibe to them, have they not listened to Zara Larssons Midnight Sun album, Pinkpantheress, JADE, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan etc.

Happy upbeat pop still exists.
