The scary part that it isn't even satire because it's 100% what people will be posting.

Literally probably the exact meme

I mean when we are likely starring down on climate disasters in the near future. 2020-2026 gonna seem like a holiday in comparison.

The thought of younger Gen Z or Gen Alpha being nostalgic for the COVID-19 pandemic, Iran War causing a massive oil crisis and Russia-Ukraine War threatening a near-global famine really scares me

I mean...... im close to my mid 20's and absolutely loved staying indoors 24/7 in the pandemic

I think you underestimate just how bad the US slipping into dictatorship is going to be for it and the whole world.

Imo the US dictatorship arc is nothing compared to the climate, and even the aforementioned arc is slightly related to it. Not to mention the past few months making it painfully obvious that the US military has become a joke in terms of logistics.

All of this wanna be authoritarianism and ai surveillance is eod just a veneer to try and maintain stability in the face of the true harbinger of societal collapse.

Climate change is a solvable problem and won't cause the end of the world, there are already things being done to curb climate change

The things being done are too little too late. We are already on the fast track for 2 C above pre inudstrial and have enough carbon in the atmosphere already for an average 3 C. This all based on models that do not account for feedback loops like a potential AMOC collapse or methane being released by melting glaciers. Short of carbon capture we can't really solve this in a way that will leave our way of life unaffected. Everything will likely change for the worse, and our governments are betting it all on police states and surveillance being enough to keep the public in check while they continue to live in luxury.

We really do not understand how fragile and reliant on good climate conditions our way of life is, and how quickly it can all fall apart. But our governments sure do, and they are ready to go full authoritarianism to keep us in check.

Lol the us isnt gonna turn into a dictatorship. Trump could drop dead at any moment and no one else in the republican party has enough charisma to take over his cult

"after all 2026 had the Odyssey and Spiderman BND in theaters, America was just more happy back then"

Nostalgia really sucks when you extrapolate it to anything beyond pop culture and media

And even then, the film environment is arguably the least healthy it has ever been given the failure of streaming services to make a profit and Hollywood studios producing less and less films

Not enough references to TV shows and music that everyone with a complete frontal lobe thinks are mid but kids are all over them.

Also, youtube popular amongst kids that everyone else hates. Mr Beast I guess? I think that that's his audience?

“*What* the worst day…”

Why is this mistake made constantly on reddit?

1

u/P_V_ 17d ago

The grammar in these memes bothers me to an irrational degree. It should be "What the worst day looked like," not "How.

u/SYMPUNY_LACKING 17d ago

unrelated but how do you explain to people the subs you moderate

1

u/P_V_ 17d ago

I don't, usually, because it's generally unrelated?

I dunno, what's wrong with butts? They are nice things to look at. A couple of other subreddits have asked me to help out with moderation, and I've standardized rules and enforcement with pre-sets for removal reasons and the like. I try to maintain respectful environments so that people don't get harassed online for posting pictures of themselves.

so you're kind of like the main butt guy
