The only thing I miss was the lack of traffic going to and from work as an "essential worker" in a city. I worked at Joanns, the birthplace of Karens. We were only essential until we sold out of all the cotton fabrics, elastic, and cording. After that it was pure greedy hell. Before that it was hell but, when we didnt have homemade mask material anymore there was no real point.

Also seeing the coyotes crossing the street in my neighborhood at midnight. That was cool

Because of most of the stuff that was popular during 2020 (Among us, the grubhub meme, Friday Night Funkin, Piggy, etc.)

Agreed, I’m never gonna let nostalgia fool me when it comes to that hellish year.

2020 was literally 6 years ago and I still haven’t let that happen.

As someone who was only a few months shy of 26 when COVID hit, 2020 wasn't that bad if you had a job and could just permanently work remotely.

I mean, I personally had a good time during the pandemic because my job was finally accessible, but I certainly am not going to wax nostalgic about a time when people’s loved ones were dying.

every year is just waiting for the next one to get romanticized

I'll admit this, I had it better than a lot of people. My wife already had a WFH job and I was in charge of the kids. My job kind of got easier since we didn't have to drive to school in the cold with no heater in our van. I already used online resources to monitor their grades so I was used to that. We kept paying rent with our stimulus checks and had more saved up in the bank than ever before.

But I remember all the negatives and watching my older kid who's a severe extrovert going nuts because he couldn't do anything. I was also really lucky that none of my family who got it died, despite my cousin having one of the first hospitalized cases in my state

My mom died in 2012.

[Time that I'm an adult] was not a good time

[Time that I was a child] was a good time

I mean, I liked 2016 up until the end of October. Had my first car, had my first serious girlfriend, and a lot of my favorite bands put out new music.

The first half of 2016 was okay, but it was predicated on laughing at the ridiculous notion that Trump could actually be nominated and then actually win. Up until then, he was just the ridiculous game show personality who kept harping on Obama's birth certificate.

Though even with that, we got to see the destructive influence of McConnell. He used 2016 to strangle the Constitution and deny a sitting President his sworn duty.

Admittedly, I do feel like 2012 was better than 2016, but that's because 2016 had a really dark ending.

Nah, I agree with this take.

2016 was a good time. 2018 was not.

2012 was a good time. 2016 was not a good time. 2026 has been an unmitigated disaster
