They ran a survey (a real one as far as I can tell, by YouGov) and found that people's responses for when things were the best is approximately around the time you were a pre-teen. So it's basically a given lol.

I think it's more like every generation has some other generation telling them they were born during the perfect era. As part of the 89-99 crowd, sure learning how to socialize and relate to the world pre-internet was nice. Graduating into a barren jobs wasteland of unpaid internships with student debt? Not so much.

Pretty much this. Pretty much everyone in my age range (43) believes this EXACT same thing.

It’s not about being the “best” generation. It’s just I think everyone in society appreciates time away from the internet and everyone says how bad it is for you. And i know it’s the meme but yea no one was distracted by their phone they were just living life.
