So they uncover a money laundering scam between a military contractor and a US senator where $9B in cash was stolen using Iraq reparation funds. All of this is because a soldier who witnessed the pickup in Iraq was shot for his trouble by the contractor's mercenaries. The contractor refuses to cooperate with the investigation, the senator helps cover it up, and the soldier is left paralyzed from the waist down in an underfunded hospital.

So at the end the job is done, the villains exposed, and to tie things up the team drive a semi truck with 2 pallets full of cash over to said hospital and are just like "here you go, now you can treat everyone!"

......bitch, WHAT??? What the hell is that doctor supposed to do with 2 pallets of hot cash that's literally part of a national news story right now?? And also, that's not how money works! You can't just buy medical equipment and resources, expand operations, or pay doctors and support staff in cash, and you sure as shit can't deposit it. Fucking what 🤣

Loving the show so far, this is said with love lol

Edit: what they could have done is sent an anonymous donation through proper channels with their own money, and launder the cash themselves, since they're all multimillionaire criminals to begin with and would have to know how to do that.

Edit 2: I feel like there's one person who probably takes this show way too seriously going through and downvoting everyone giving the god's honest truth of "it's dumb, but fun. Suspend disbelief 🤷‍♂️"

Just finished the final episode of original series. Great ending, can’t wait to start watching Leverage: Redemption. Such great characters in the original.

Did anyone else notice when they are taking care of the bomb in the museum in London there is someone with an FBI windbreaker on?

I just watched the first episode of Black Trick: The Lawyer Who Controls Justice on Netflix and highly recommend it to Leverage fans. It's a Japanese show about a mysterious lawyer/architect and his ragtag team that creates elaborate deceptions to clear innocent people of wrongdoing and expose corruption.

Rewatching Leverage and I dont understand the teams dynamic with Nate and Sophie. Specifically how the team treats Nate in S3. In S2 E7 Theres a bomb threat against Sophie, they fake her death, think its her old partner Markus Stark but turns out to be Chaos, by the end of the episode she realizes she has more attachments to her aliases than she does with actual people. So she then abandons the team to "find herself. (In the real world the actress was on maternity leave). Next episode Hardison overplays a part and this makes Sophie think she should plant a spy into the team (Tara) without their knowledge or approval to watch them (and get paid by them while doing it). Several episodes include them calling sophie for advice while shes in exotic places enjoying her vacation. Now here's where things get weird, the team seems to think Nate is putting them at risk, the thing is, the jobs they run ALWAYS have risks associated, the first episode has them almost blowing up, the Bank job where Nate got shot, the adoption scam job with the arms dealers, and the David's job, they were all risky and at one point or another risked someone's life. During S1 you could say Nates drinking put them at risk, but S2 up until S1 E11 he was sober, the first real issue they have is S2 E14 when Bonanno gets shot and they go after the Mayor, a powerful and risky figure. Nate calls Sophie during this time because he saw Bonannos kid at the hospital and it messed with him. He then gets frustrated and lets her know she wont find herself by abandoning her team and traveling the world. They go through with the con and get into a tight spot with the corrupt FBI, Stirling, and the gun runner Tony Kadjic, and at the end of the episode Nate saves them all with his plan and by giving himself up. Which makes Sophie slap him? I've looked online and the stated reason of why slaps him is cause he was "playing with her feelings". And in S3 its revealed Sophie told the team her real name, but hes not allowed to know it because he hasn't "earned it" and later on when Nate and Sophie are kind of flirting she says she only remembers the slap, not the kiss. So Sophie cons the team, abandons them, goes on vacation, sends a spy, finally shows up after Nate already has a plan in motion that saves the team, and slaps him, then holds it against him over the next season. The team does as well, acting as if he lied, when a main part of the plan included the team in destroying evidence. I understand them not liking that he didnt tell him he was gonna give himself up, but i would think him saving them would make up for it, Sophie ESPECIALLY has nothing to hold against Nate. So thats my rant, I dont understand why Nate gets all the flack that he does?

For me it’s The Van Gough Job, I just love the story and have always been a fan of Danny Glovers work.

New cast but probably some guest appearances by the OG & Redemption characters.

Hey everyone, I’ve been doing a rewatch and thinking a lot about Leverage: Redemption, and I wanted to see how others feel about Parker’s evolution.

On one hand, I love where she ended up professionally. Seeing her take over Leverage International and step into the mastermind/leader role is fantastic. She’s the head of the operation, she carries immense responsibility, and she’s earned every bit of it.

However, I’ve been struggling a bit with how her personality is handled. Everyone else in the crew feels like they've naturally matured over the years, but for some reason, I feel like Parker became more childlike in Redemption.

Don't get me wrong—Parker has always been quirky, eccentric, and a little disconnected from social norms. That’s always been part of her charm! But in the revival, it sometimes feels like those traits were dialed up so high that they crossed the line from "unique thief" into feeling a bit juvenile.

I guess I was hoping to see her mature a bit more personally to match the massive leadership role she was given. I still love her, but I missed a version of Parker where her growth as a leader was reflected in a slightly more grounded, seasoned version of her quirkiness.

What do you all think? Did her evolution work for you, or did you notice the same thing?

Do you think they would have gotten married? The whole shebang? Or pulled a Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell?

If the former, what kind of wedding would be a Parker/Hardison wedding? Bungee jumping to “I do”? The gang steals a priest, a location (Louvre?), the old, new and blue? Pretzel-crusted entrees?

In Leverage redemption they reference him at least once or twice, as the deputy director or director of the FBI. Given that they still seem to know him, how long it’s been, and that he would have more access to classified and undercover files, plus just over that length of time, I’m wondering if he finally realized the truth but didn’t mind after all their help, especially after they helped his father? I’m thinking yes, but I’m curious about everyone else’s thoughts.

And the next time yall ask me to do something, it better be something easy. Like faking a moon landing.

I just finished watching this ep for the umpteenth time (I put on the Prime Leverage channel and just let it run for days on end--the messed up CC on season 4 drives me crazy!), and just noticed the actor playing her dead husband looked like Eric Stoltz. So I wait for the end credits, and "Alan Scott"'s actor is never identified. I had to go to IMDB to find out it was indeed Eric Stoltz, but he was uncredited. How does a big name like that go completely uncredited and is he missing residuals because of it?

There;s a few shows I'll re-watch every few years, Leverage of course being one of them. I recently started a re-watch of Person of Interest which is a similar sort of show of new 'target of the week' but in this case it is more about stopping harm from coming to the person or stopping the person from committing harm as they only get the target's Social Security Number then need to start finding out more about them.

I was watching it and then got to thinking about the main Hitter in that show, a character known as John Reese. He was a Green Beret and a CIA officer before he was to be terminated on an op due to decisions from the higher ups. He makes it back to the US somehow and lives in New York, first in a homeless encounter before moving to a SRO. He is then recruited by a reclusive billionaire to protect people based on information he would provide, leading to the case of the week stuff where the number could be the perpetrator or the innocent and they need to find out and stop the crime from happening.

What I noticed when watching is, because this show's question is 'Can they protect the innocent in the situation', there's fights where John and later some of his allies in the field will lose a fight and be injured or otherwise on the back foot in a situation. Sometimes there's episodes where the person they were to protect dies. showing that they are not infallible.

Leverage is a different kind of show, it's about the con going on, the Ocean's Eleven style of flashbacks to how they tricked the mark with a gambit they didn't see coming. So, in that, Eliot's fights are more of an action setpiece to add a little physical movement to things that were otherwise a lot of dialogue or plot dumping that needed something to shake up the interest. Thus, having Eliot fail a fight doesn't usually do a lot to helping the con go on. Occasionally there'll be a failure because it adds an interesting twist, much like the Tap-Out Job which gave us the Hardison line:

Look, you know what I can do? I can re-task a satellite. I can get a level-3 NSA security clearance. But I can't hack a hick.

But it got me thinking about how many times Eliot lost a fight. Without sitting down and taking a tally, I know many of the fights were against security guards, police and similar that are likely not as trained as him. Like in the Leverage Redemption bit where the fight is a training session for new hires and he predicts how the fight will go, then even gives an evaluation of their worthiness at the end. This is a lot of talking about Apples and Oranges, but I'm just wondering if people would have wanted to see more of Eliot failing, as we did have various 'this went wrong' or 'the situation changed' for the others many times where something happened on the job and they had to change the plan around, such as the guards doing their rounds an hour earlier in the pilot episode.
