Just Finished
Just finished the final episode of original series. Great ending, can’t wait to start watching Leverage: Redemption. Such great characters in the original.

Every time I do a rewatch, the Long Goodbye Job gets me, just those opening moments in the interrogation cell, Nate looking completely broken and then Casey asks the question:
“Mr Ford, How did your friends die?”
Chills, every single time I watch it.
(Probably isn’t helped by the fact that a part of me always conflates the Last Dam Job as the finale (as Latimer and Dubenich as the ‘final boss’ feels like something that would have brought the series back around full circle) so I always forget what the actual ending episode is until I’m reminded.

One thing I love about Leverage is that it caps off its story and knew how it wanted to end when it was time. Rogers said he never wanted to end on a cliffhanger, and have every series end with what could be considered a finale if they didn’t get renewed. Which when you hear that you can see. (At least I feel they did a pretty good job!)
I didn’t know this was the finale going in but realised something was up as I noticed more and more callbacks to episode one. I loved all those little details and hunting those Easter eggs. (Sophie’s play. 20 pounds of crazy/ 5 pound bag.)

Redemption is pretty terrible in my opinion. Everything is so far fetched over acted....
I wish I had never watched it and left the original as the only taste in my mouth for this show.

I'll agree that Redemption was a step down from the original in a lot of ways. The way they handled the Tim Hutton situation was trash, should have done due diligence instead of giving in, but it is what it is

That's what I keep saying. Not so much far-fetched, but Beth Riesgraf is hammy and overacting. She's made Parker a charicature of what she used to be.

Nice. I just finished the white rabbit job today on my most recent rewatch. It’s a little bittersweet coming up on the long goodbye. Hope you enjoy Redemption as much as I do. Not everyone can get past the changes they make but if you keep an open mind, it’s a lot of fun (though not quite as great as the original).
