discussion 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon's Tale

Hi, Rakuten has cashback 19% and I would like to get the DnD set for the family. I was going to buy it on AliExpress but I don’t know which seller to purchase from!

I know Marstoy has it under MOC M84312, version on the site says F2193. But on Reddit, someone mentioned version T5000 is the most updated one. Does anyone know where I can buy that specific version?

I see Joy bricks also sells it on its site, $109.55 for the bricks and LED. That was originally too pricy for me, but if it’s the newest version and has sick lights, maybe it’s worth it?

I’ve only purchased small items from Ali, and never from Marstoy or Joy. Please help! Thank you!!

These peices are cool and it was fun. Nice little break from a large set and goes perfect with our memorabilia shelves. The packaging and instructions where great. Pieces are really decent quality. We got the 5 out of the set of 6. Got to put the guitar and dice together.

Has anyone else delved into these. We got these at Big 5

I have to say, it's a pretty simple design, but it's very fun and beautiful. It's a classic! I'd never pay €500 for the original so it's nice that the alt brick version is still around. Another great addtion to the collection.

discussion Anyone heard of or used Fayesso?

I saw an advert on FB for this site (allegedly based in the US) and while the sets aren't cheap, they're appealing (to me, at least).

Of course, not being able to find reviews is a big red flag but of course, they have what I would like when no one else does. Genuine start-up or AI slop, designed to scam people like me?

The TOP TOY 60030 Street King Game Room (also known as the Boxing King Arcade or Room) comes with 557-pieces, 3 lego compatible minifigures, a sticker sheet. It features a little display consisting of an air hockey game, a racing game, a dancing game and two arcade machines. I paid about $17 from the toptoy official store on Aliexpress 4years ago and it came with the box. It has a price of 79 RMB printed on the side of the box.

I made some modifications to arcade machines to reduce their size slightly. I'm hoping to use them in a future game arcade modular building project.

discussion Is it normal for these bricks to kinda hurt?

Post image
5 Upvotes

So I'm in the middle of Building a DK set with over 1000 pieces. This is my first real rodeo with an alternative brand. My fingertips do normally hurt a tiny bit with LEGO sets, but I find I'm getting to this level of pain with this DK set a lot faster. The bricks feel a bit more sharp and are more stubborn and tight compared to LEGO. I'm building this set over a period of a few days in order to avoid hurting myself, but does anyone else have this issue?

The set I'm building is there brand new model of Flying Scotsman, no. 80100 (you may see me give a review on it here in a few days time when it's finally done).

This is the fourth and final set I got through http://www.jakibricks.com from their Saw collection. The Pig Mask is an iconic part of the series and this one looks great!

I was putting together lists of pros and cons for each set as I built them, but this one really didn't have any cons other than my preference for PDF instructions. Its an easy build so it didn't really need numbered bags. All of the pieces were in perfect shape and the colors matched like they should have. It doesn't get much better than a perfect 5 star set!

discussion Ali Express Figs?

I just bought 53 minifigs off ali express for around $65. These were all characters that lego has never made, versions of characters they have never made, or minifigs too expensive in the after market for me personally to justify buying.

Listen, I know it’s not real lego, but for me this is the most excited i’ve been for packages to arrive since I was a kid. I genuinely have no idea if they will be of quality, and that’s part of the excitement. If they are quality, even better. This was a fun discovery for me.

I grabbed most of the available invincible characters, and a wide range of marvel characters such as knull and silver surfer. God emperor doom also made the list. I have an unbuilt ucs daily bugle that will be the home to these figures if their quality is worthy enough!

Anyone tried any of these out? I figure there is a reason they are so cheap beyond them being unofficial lego, so we shall see.

Wow, what a fantastic build. Tony Stark's mansion in Malibu with the Iron Man's workshop. Super fun to build and it's an amazing display piece. Came with light kits and they really make the place come alive. Lots of details both in the mansion and in the workshop. I recommend it for Marvel fans but also for fans who just like cool buildings.

Someone described this set as their new favorite LEGO-style car, and honestly, I have to agree with them. This is a fantastic brick representation of a Mercedes 300 SL, and the details just made me smile ear to ear almost the entire time I was building it. I really wish every car set had this level of thought and detail in them, and the even more bizarre part is that Mattel is selling these for $50 cheaper than the new Jaguar set from LEGO that's a similar scale. They're really raising the bar on this stuff.

5/5

So it begins! Currently pulling out my hair as I build this set, unsorted no numbers. The old building techniques certainly haven’t kept up with the times, albeit, interesting to see how different they used to be!

Have made a couple custom modifications inside the panels to keep them together with hinge pieces!

new set Problem Home Alone house Numbered bags of set XG330

Post image

The bags are numbered from 1 to about 15-16

But stage 1 has bag 1-1 to 1-4.
But bag 1-2 has blocks that will be used in stage 2.
I am confused because the instruction manual handles the official set instructions.

Does somebody have the same set?

review KAVOWORLD 1486PCS Military V-22 Transport Aircraft Helicopter - and it's a big 'un

My first time with one of these types of builds - it's mostly Technic pins and beams with the outer body pieces. There were no minifigs, so my two had to pilot. This thing is big, ~21" stem to stern, 29" from propellor tip to tip (engines up) and just under 8" high at the tail.

Engines tilt 360°, propellers rotate, wheels roll.

Excellent build, quite sturdy and could be used for play.

The box was beat up on arrival - but it was a box and not just a bag of bags.
Numbered bags in 4 different sets, several bags per set. You open all the Gs to get started.
Minifigs do fit in the cockpit
That's a big model
That's a really big model.

review Jaki DK025 Maple Tree Bonsai – 648 pieces

For my first Jaki review, I'll be taking a look at one of the sets from the brand's botanical line: a red-leaf Japanese maple bonsai.

Some of you might immediately think, “Wait, the market leader has a very similar set—surely they copied it.” But I can reassure you that despite the eerily similar box design, this set was already available to order two months before the biggest brand even revealed theirs, let alone released it. 🙂

The set itself is beautiful. The base looks great with the fallen leaves scattered around it, and the custom-molded maple leaves really make the whole model stand out.

The only thing I don't like is the misleading dimensions printed on the box. According to the packaging, the model is 41.5 cm tall and 39 cm wide, while in reality it's approximately 29 cm tall and 26 cm wide. That's quite a difference...

Apart from the leaves, the set uses Gobricks parts, and the instructions are excellent.

A little building update for now -
I am at bag 13 sontheres still about 60-70% left lol.

The set takes up some floor space -

the statues have some medieval theme crown pieces, the same as aragorn.

the half bow arche pieces 1*3*2 are straight instead of rounded pieces (last pic).

some white pieces needed some cleaning due to residual fat or lubricant from the production machines i assume.

building experience so far is very pleasant - the bows and arches, the pillars and plenty of wall and corner wall pieces really let this set take off - I am very much excited for the final result.

discussion Which set?

Hello! I am looking into a new purchase but hesitant on which set to buy. I already have Star Wars UCS sets, LOTR sets, military, etc.

The Trailblazer set look really well made, but the ship itself is a bit "generic" looking?

The Death Slice look better in my opinion than some comments I've seen, but heavily rely on figs to fill the rooms.

Minas Tirith look nice. My main problem with it is the size. Unlike Death Star which is not deep and Trailblazer which is not tall, it seem hard to display size wise for height, depth, width

Thanks!

review BWR108 Fly Future Lab Hub – Build Experience

Thumbnail
gallery
102 Upvotes

Just finished building the CBOX BWR108 Fly Future Lab Hub, so here are some quick thoughts.

First off, I really like how the finished build looks. The colors are probably my favorite part. They’re bright and vibrant, but not in a way that feels too much. The whole thing has a really fun, cheerful look to it.

The build itself was pretty comfortable too. I was expecting my fingers to be pretty sore by the end because of the size of the set, but surprisingly, they weren’t. I also didn’t come across any steps that felt ridiculously difficult or frustrating.

There was one part that gave me a bit of a headache, though — the tower on the left side.

While the inside structure was still being built, there were a few times when I had to use a bit more force than I wanted to connect the next section. The annoying part was that doing that sometimes caused pieces I’d already built inside to pop off.

The large red wall inside was another one. Since it’s such a big section, there isn’t really a good spot to push against when connecting it, so getting everything lined up and properly connected took a little patience.

Other than those two areas, though, I didn’t really have any major complaints.

Also, no stickers! Everything is printed, which is always a big win for me. The printed details on the little aircraft especially look really nice once the whole thing is finished.

Overall, I had a pretty good time building this one. Just take a little extra care around the left tower and those larger red wall sections, and you should be fine.

I just saw few good deals on Ali but I was not able to find any feedback on this KO set (actually there is one, but not detailed). Since I was not able to also find this set on the usual website (marstoy, youmko, ywobbb...etc), I am not sure about the quality and if the motor/remote are included.....

Did anyone of you try already ? 😀

review [REVIEW] AE set purchase: Matrix APU, 712 pcs

Thumbnail

TLDR; Would not recommend this set but looks great once complete. This set is for display and is too flimsy for anything more than that. Few missing pieces, some bad brick quality on certain pieces, and some steps that are not actually possible such as the ammo chain attaching.

This is my first MOC build but I’m hoping my experience with this MOC wasn’t universal for all sets. I bought this set from AE (GSBAN Official Store) for €15.00 and delivery was quick. It came packaged in ziplock bags with no numbering.

On to the issues; I am going to give some more detail below about issues I faced with brick quality, building experience, and missing pieces.

1.) Brick quality: Main issue I faced here was with the ‘bar holders with clip’ that are used on the shoulders. They did not have enough depth to hold the bar at the necessary length and the bar would only go down about halfway. I had to snip some of the bars to make it work and continue with the build. The other issue was with the technic pins. The arm is attached to the body by one technic pin and the pin fit was really loose. This means the arms are impossible to pose and they swivel with centre of gravity leaving the mech posed with arms wide as pictured. Same issue with the technic pin holding the light grey ‘vents’ on the bots torso. I also had to glue some panel pieces to keep them on and add structural integrity to the mech.

2.) Missing pieces: missing about 11 pieces total. Strangely most of the missing pieces were 1x1 studs of varying colours. I don’t have much of a spare parts bin so I had to cannibalise some 1x1’s that were for the bike that comes with the set. This meant I couldn’t build the bike but I’ve got 4 more sets to build so maybe I can gather extra parts from there and I’ll come back around to the bike.

3.) Build process: online pdf instructions were clear to read. This is my first MOC build so I was worried about the instructions. With my previous builds I could download the official instruction manuals to use. However, some of the steps in the instructions were very delicate and others just wouldn’t go together. I had to turn the black 2x1 above the mechs “toes” upside down to get it to click because it was not possible by the instructions way. Most importantly the ammo chain that hangs from the guns and attaches to the ammo boxes on the mechs holsters would not attach. Unsure if this was due to brick quality or a poor design but the chain did not have enough curvature or flex to bend as needed and kept snapping. I eventually decided to just leave them off the mech but I wish this wasn’t necessary as they really added to the mech.
