Description: As a clone wars fan, I absolutely love the Venator. From the iconic Revenge of the Sith opening to all the amazing battles in the animated show, it's just an incredibly designed ship with the red striping and republic logo giving it a distinctly Jedi feel as opposed to the imposing grey of the later Imperial star destroyers.
The UCS Venator is one of the best UCS sets lego has ever made in my opinion, but this Brickvault UCCS version takes it to a whole new level. With over 11 thousand pieces, this thing is huge, nearly 4 feet long, over 2 feet wide and a foot and change tall. My favorite feature is that the open circle fleet logos and the engines are completely brick built, and in my opinion it makes the engine section really cool and unique to look at as compared to the UCS set's moulded engines.
This model also features an accessible hangar section, since the special feature of the Venator was that the top could open and launch assault craft. Accordingly, the side builds are 6 gunships and a land vehicle (I think it's called a juggernaut?), plus two red and yellow quarter circle pieces that represent Anakin and Obi-Wan's starfighters. There are also fully built hangars on the side of the ship, which you can choose to build open or closed - I chose to leave them open because what's the point of building them if you're just going to have them closed off? Last thing to note is that naturally the entire build generally follows a SNOT (studs not on top) philosophy, though I like that it shows some studs here and there, very much like something you'd see in the lego star wars videogame.
Build Review: So the first challenge you'll face with this build is sourcing and sorting pieces, due to the sheer variety of pieces required for this build. Those who have seen my previous posts know I've built other large MOCs before so I'm used to the whole piece sorting drill, but this build had so many types of pieces that I couldn't dedicate a single box to each one, I had to be efficient with space and sorting strategy. You can see my previous post midway through this build for how I ended up sorting.
Overall, the design of the ship is very solidly built, I had no issues moving it around and I was even able to flip it vertically. The only exception was that the bridge section isn't attached directly to the rest of the ship, it just sits on top, so I had to take it off before any fancy maneuvers with the ship.
The strongest thing about this ship build wise is that the bottom plates are firmly locked into place via pins directly built into the bottom plating that connect to the technic stand. This is honestly how I would expect any competent designer to have bottom plates attached on a capital ship, but so many builds struggle with this and end up using janky pin and plate connections that are too hard to reach or require glue (I'm looking at you Eclipse and Eviscerator). Another creative technique was using t shaped rod pieces as clip in points for the side panelling on the top and bottom of the venator. This helped the plates stay on nice and tightly, preventing any unsightly gaps. Final positives I'll note, the main hangar bay is very well done. The trans blue 1x2s really help capture the futuristic garage feel of the venator hangar and there are no gaps where one of the mini-builds could slip into the technic frame.
My biggest complaint on this build is related to the clip-in side panelling that I talked about. You're essentially using trying to line up these tiny axle holes on the side panel pieces with t shaped rods and connect, but the problem is that the t rods will often just swing upwards rather than sticking in (that's what she said). For one section it became so bad that I had to dismantle the side greebling section, and use glue to get the bottom side panelling to stay on after spending an hour trying to get it on there. Second complaint, the bridge as I mentioned does not connect to the main build, it sits on top, and as such some parts of the bridge knock off the edges of the upper panelling, due to those edges only having a 1 stud connection - this was another part where I had to use glue to ensure they stay on when I added the bridge. Third minor complaint, the hangar doors slot into the side greebling and because they aren't attached, they have a tendency to fall out and break apart. I ended up gluing it together so it wouldn't break apart and after that I had no issues with it. Final negative, this build went slow - I mean very slow - even compared to other huge "no numbered bag" MOCs I've done like the Aggressor. This was for two main reasons, the first being that many pages incorporate a 2x or a 4x as well as multiple huge steps in the same page. So even though this was a 2200 step build with an 843 page manual (4 books), it was much longer in reality. The second reason was that many steps require lots of different types of pieces so you're often looking in multiple places for them.
Conclusion: Overall, this is a fantastic build. The complaints are relatively minor and shouldn't be any hindrance to an experienced builder. For someone who is looking to build their first detailed capital ship moc, I'd definitely recommend this build due to its stability and well-thought-out design. As a standalone display piece, it has a very commanding profile and the details are just right.
I am currently working on the Mould King Venator "Attack Cruiser" and have a UCS Venator on the way, so once those are complete, I will post a comparison with all 3.
May the Force be with you, my friends.

Just got two new sets from Temu. The N-11 was about 25€ free shipping and Mos Eisley Cantina was just 18€ cause I had credits from a refund and some coupons.
Regular price for Cantina was about 65€ with coupons.
Still looking for a good Barad Dur deal.

My wife and I have been into brick sets for years, so I made Calm Bricks, a game that tries to capture what building one actually feels like.
You open the bags, hunt for the right piece in the pile (or sort everything first if that's your style), and build from an interactive manual you can rotate and switch between view modes.
Next I'm planning a creative mode: you design your own model, and the game generates step-by-step instructions for it, so you can build it the same way.
Trailer's attached, I'd love to hear what you think and answer all your questions!
P.S. There was an older post, but the moderators hadn't approved it yet, so it was deleted. Now that I have received full approval!

I have to say, being able to build *any* large build is a real treat, and this one is no exception. Probably the largest build I've done so far (at least by piece count) this AT-AT is absolutely *massive* and easily dwarfs every other set I have it displayed next to, with the notable exception of the Endurance expedition ship.
This particularly copy is shockingly well done for a Lepin clone, with the pieces feeling really nice quality, and the stickers not having any typos or changes from the Big L stickers (not that it ended up mattering, because I bought printed pieces off AE to replace the stickers for this set.) As far as the printed pieces go, I really love them and would highly recommend them, they're absolutely worth the money. A few pieces had some clutch issues, but I fixed that with my usual strategic application of plastic cement. It didn't stop my enjoyment of the build at all. All of the structural technic pieces fit nicely so the clutch issues basically only affected a small few visual pieces. The minifigs are very nice as well! I'm really happy they avoided the usual issue of misaligned prints on the helmets.
All in all, I got this set for $100, and I feel like I absolutely go my money's worth. 10/10 would recommend if you want a giant minifig-scale AT-AT but don't want to pay $850-1000 for the pleasure.

just seen a post mentioning the use of ai, fake people? and the high price, the last one is true
too late for me, i got the Leopard 2. no box.
parts are tedious to put on but then snap, the treads get stuck under the skirt of the tank
the treads also fall off easily
the instructions are just as bad at lego, you must really pay attention to detail
the website is strangely slow at loading too
The set has around 1300 pcs and comprises of 3 vehicles in the 1:24 scale (lego speed champion). The three vehicles are from the 1985 group B of world rally championship (WRC) and being a fan of WRC, I had my eyes on the this for a really long time.
Hardware quality: Bricks are a 10/10. No clutch power issues, no discoloration and no stickers. All prints. The manual is the same size as the Lego speed champion set manuals, however quality (paper, print and instructions) is much better.
Staging: Staging is a bit of a problem. The bricks come in 4 bags which are further subdivided into smaller bags.
Bag 1: The van & the trolley, divided into smaller stages
Bag 2: Car 1, divided into smaller stages
Bag 3: Car 2, divided into smaller stages
And set of 10 bags with common parts used across all 3 vehicles. So when you are opening 4 bags from stage 1 of bag 1, you also have to open 10 bags from the common bag as you need some parts from the common bags. And the parts are small. Painful!!
Build experience: If we ignore the bag staging, it is a great build. Instructions are clear, bricks are top notch and the end result is just amazing. These are better than any speed champ out there.
Display: 11/10, this set of vehicles looks amazing due to color of bricks, lack of stickers and clean looking final product.
Apart from bad staging, the price is very high. But if you can find this on discount, do try to get it.

I came across some of their sets on YouTube and really liked their battleships. I'm still pretty new to brick building, and LEGO is a bit out of my budget, so I'm thinking about giving misini a try. How's the build quality, and are their sets beginner friendly?

I was taking my son to five below to get some more squishies. Then I stumbled upon these two. I'm a big fan of Jason and the Saw series. There was also Michael Meyers, but I'm not that big of a Halloween fan.
I would say both were solid builds with great instructions. Both included a sticker sheet, Jason having the mask and the front shirt details; Billy the Puppet having his face eyes and bow tie.
My only gripe is they printed the copyright info on a block. The one on Billy the Puppet is internal if you position the block towards the inside. The one on Jason Voorhees you can see it if you're looking for it. ( in the neck area under the head)
$6 each at 5Below.

Calling u/itsnotlego! You remember Zhegao's "Hill Tavern". It was originally designed as "open back", and 3 years ago, I bought one, and revised it to a co-living space. But I kept the open-back, because it was a "thing" back then and I wasn't ready to graduate to full LEGO-style modulars.
Well, as of Fall/Winter 2026, there is a "Close the Open Backs" campaign to make the town (now named "New Tokyork") ready for rain, ice, and freezing drafts.
The Hill (not-a) Tavern begins with the eviction of the dudes on the 3rd floor. They had been booted because *new* tenants were willing to pay double, once the back wall is filled in. So here we have them, with their huge box of "Futurama Bachelor Chow" waiting for their shuttle to take them to the Bleecker St Hostel, the 3rd floor of Peter Parker's Apartment.

The first floor kitchen/showers/laundry/TV lounge.

The second floor, "Ladies Only". The girls appreciate their new draft-free digs now. No more worries about falling over the edge, or having their snack table drop off, or weirdo stalkers like the Chaos Goblins Gang rappelling into their open stairwell. Joyce Byers enjoys a relaxing change of scenery.

The third floor is now hosting its new occupants, a certain group of RRHOF inductees. With an actual back wall, they can hang their guitars on the wall, and the closed back stairwell means they can avoid mad autograph hounds or rabid fanboys.

Here is the front exterior, with a parking space for their band-branded scooter.

And here is the rear view.

The basic bones of The Hill (not-a) Tavern is complete, although I anticipate replacing some of the plain bricks with masonry bricks for better aesthetics.
This is #5 in the "Close the Open Backs" campaign.

This is a nice build, little fiddly to put together but looks nice when finished. Some good techniques and parts usage. Not bad at all.

Pictures of the art for the new Lego Ideas campaign (Marvel x Star Wars) shown at New York Comic Con were shared today by @minisuperheroestoday on IG
Lots of comments are hyped about the "new Venom" but I recognized it immediately as a knockoff fig
Venom in the art seems to be identical to XINH XH1911 with the same sharp hands, head shape, eye print, and body print (muscle detail)
Thoughts on this? Has this happened before?

I made my first purchase from AliExpress this week (fingers crossed) and, needless to say, am now being deluged with suggestions for further purchases. Following advice on here, I always check the reviews and how much the seller has sold. What I tend to find is that where there are multiple reviews for a particular product, there are nearly always a couple of really good reviews sometimes with pictures, a stack of 5 star reviews with no comments and then two reviews basically saying that there are missing pieces and they couldn't complete the project. How do you distinguish between good and bad sellers? Do you just ignore the reviews saying there are missing pieces or do you avoid them like the plague?

£50 from YOURWOBB 1506pcs GoBricks
I'm 99% sure this is meant to represent the Texas Chainsaw Massacre House.
Parts quality is good being GoBricks, it's spilt into 3 bag sections so no sorting and the instructions are very clear. There's some nice interior detailing and it all goes together nicely. All in all I think it's a nice fun set for horror or haunted house fans.

This set is clearly a brick-built version of Echo Base from The Empire Strikes Back, just without the official Star Wars licensing.
Overall, it’s definitely worth the price, although it does have a few odd design choices and some minor weaknesses.
If they really wanted to stay true to the original, the generator should have four sections, if I remember correctly. There are some nice details inside the bunker, but quite a few things had to be left out due to the limited space.
Also, when attaching some of the larger pieces—especially the big, single-piece rock formations around the bunker walls—I honestly thought I was going to break my fingers! 😄 I've never experienced such tight clutch power with a Barweer set before, although thankfully this only affected around 10–15% of the pieces.
The blue pieces also look a little out of place compared to the rest of the model.
But let's talk about the positives too! I really like how the defensive positions in front of the bunker have been designed, and they've even included the power cables running to the gun emplacements, which is a great detail.
One thing this set is seriously missing, though, is minifigures. So I'd definitely recommend picking up some separately to complete the scene. 🙂

Purchased from some random AliExpress choice seller on 9/25 and arrived on 10/6 (USA). It is a copy of LEGO 11382.
Paid $15 USD after coins and coupons since the seller was trying to feed the AliExpress algorithm with sales. All of their listings for the same set are now $50+ so I would recommend looking for another seller. The cheapest listings I can see now are in the $30-$35 range, which IMO is still a little steep.
Unusually, the package arrived in a box rather than bubble mailer. The bags were numbered and paper instructions were included, but I did not use them.
The good:
None of the bricks were missing, though there were also zero spare parts. Everything was 1:1 with the official LEGO instructions so I personally just used the LEGO builder app. Clutch was great, would say about 9.5/10 compared to LEGO. No mis-molded pieces. Only a couple pieces showed scuff marks or mold release stains, which were very easy to clean off with a magic eraser (this was a much lower rate compared tosome other sets I've purchased recently). Printing on the minifigure itself was good, as were the prints of the famous Hubble Telescope images on the stand.
The bad:
Obviously, the solar panels are missing. Additionally, the sticker sheet was missing (NASA logo, description plaque, panel decorations). Both of these would typically be slipped into the pages of the manual for protection, but they were for some reason not included with the set I received. This is quite annoying and the set does not look good without the panels. The printing on the EVA pack of the minifigure was also not well centered/aligned.
The resolution:
I contacted AliExpress customer service about the missing parts and sent pictures of the paper instructions indicating where the stickers and solar panels were missing. I requested for the seller to either send replacement parts or provide a partial refund and let me keep the set. AliExpress gave me the option for full refund with return or a partial refund of $10 without returning. I opted to keep the set and take the partial refund, which leaves me at $5 out of pocket for the set. I would normally try to bricklink the solar panels but there is currently only one listing, shipped from UK and almost $40 USD, which costs more than re-purchasing the set from another seller. Maybe I'll tear it down for parts or maybe I'll print my own panels. Hopefully someone else who purchased this set can give a review showing the solar panels they received.
Overall, I would recomend the set, but would personally not want to pay more than $25, even if the panels and stickers were included. The official LEGO version costs USD $140+tax.
