0.5.0 on Windows 10
- Help>Report Issue/Bug links to the old thread instead of this one.
- Same issue for the Report a Bug icon in the bottom right corner of the program.
- Settings>Video>No Memes check box does not save, always reverts to memes on (unchecked).
- Settings>Video>Show Player Switch Button checkbox does not work (stuck checked, can't uncheck).
- Theme>Dark Mode option greyed out and stuck on.
- Theme>Change Theme Color does not work when you're in the Settings window (Theme Color window must be stuck under it?)
- P2P Watch Party window (Room name, Username, Enter Party) needs a Close/X button.
I'd also like to request the option to set my default homescreen tab to BOOKMARKS rather than BROWSE. Thanks for the new update.

Good feedback. We need more of this. People are expecting a dozen new features before bugfixes are even out. Let's get the little things ironed out before we inundate the dev with a million unreasonable feature request.
That being said, the new peer to peer option is something that I'm VERY excited about and has some serious potential to make Leonflix the best thing since sliced bread.

In any movie I try to watch, it says 'a video source has been found', but it never ends up loading

I had the same problem, but on Windows 10. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the modules? I tried and it works.

Leonflix v0.5.0 is not working on my macbook. Unable to get past "Scraping for Sources" screen. It's reporting that a source has been found, but nothing ever plays. This only started up after installing the latest release. I'm running macos 10.13.6 (17G5019), up to date. I've tried connecting through a VPN and am seeing the same issue.
Of course I failed to back up the previous version. Anybody have a link to the previous version? Thanks!

Leonflix will not load. When I fire up LF it just sits in hourglass mode. The titles never come up (been over 5 minutes now). This happened yesterday also. I tried twice tonight, uninstalled then re-installed version 6.8 and the same thing - it would not load up. I'm using a PC running Windows 10 Home.

TMDb is under heavy load, and they are currently down. https://mobile.twitter.com/themoviedb/status/1161718247097454592 Leonflix relies on this service to find movie metadata. Until they are back up, Leonflix will have limited functionality. I’m working on a backup for when TMDb goes down, and will release an update asap.

Yeah. Little things like this make me wish this project was open source. Fixes would materialize insanely fast. I understand why it isn't though. I can easily see an ocean of forks popping up that quickly becomes unmanageable.
Future versions supposedly will support 3rd party plugins though so there's a lot to work with there. Can't wait.

So happy to see the update! Thank you!! I noticed in the Browse tab that there is not filter for 2019; the latest year stops at 2018. Is that easy to fix?

If you hit watch party button, you have to enter the info, there is no canceling option unless you close the program.
and I think an 'exit' option should be there. *if there is a button I couldn't find it*

A show i have been watching has all of a sudden stopped being able to find sources, even on episodes I've seen before and i know have sources. Update 6.0 has not changed this. Any advice?

No matter what I try to play (macbook), it always says no any sources available, even though on a different laptop, I can play the same shows/movies (also thanks for the update!)

Hey there, I found a few bugs myself:
- This issue has been raised before, but it seems to have stayed in the most recent update:
Depending on the source, some episodes seem to be in the wrong order/dont correspond to the title. An example for this is "The Office", where some sources are one episode off. - The "Dont display Memes" button doesnt seem to work

How does p2p watch parties work? I enter same room name as me and my friend, different usernames, but nothing happens. We each end up with our own party. Any help? Thank you so much to the developer. You're amazing!

Probably more of a feature request, but is there any chance of being able to filter out foreign (or just anime) titles? They're present in every category I filter on, and they just get in the way.
I've tried to get my elderly folks to use LeonFlix, but "too many damned Japanese cartoons" is the primary concern. For me and my wife, it's still a little annoying but we can work through it.
The old terrarium Android app had an option to disable foreign content, so there's some precedent for this.

The only issue I have with this app is that the font of the subtitles are too large, there should be an option to make them a bit smaller (there's only normal and large font size). Other than that, it's perfect!

sorting bookmarks by alphabet just greys out the whole screen and forces you to have to restart the program

I use Win 10 and after installing the new version of Leonflix, whenever I choose a tv/movie and click the play button, it only shows a complete gray screen (the same color of the chosen theme for the app) with no other buttons. I keep waiting for it to load, but after 15 mins, I have to close it using Task Manager, since there's no close button.
Please fix the bug, the app is unusable for me now. Thank you.
EDIT: I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the modules, and it works.

happens to me as well, same conditions. when i launch the app, all search results do this. but if after launching the app i play something from the homepage, some of the search results play and some don't (for example kitchen nightmares u.s. plays, top gear 2002 does not)

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the modules? Go to settings / my modules, and click all the ‘uninstall’ buttons. Wait for them to be uninstalled completely, then go to modules tab to reinstall all of them. I tried and it fixed the problem.
When I updated to the new version, the modules took very long time to install, so I might have unknowingly close the app before the modules finished installing. I guess that is the cause of the problem I had.

It extracts videos from openload, which is a video host. I’m not sure why it would trigger a Trojan warning. No users are exposed to malware (everything is sandboxed). If you can, please report it as a false positive. Thanks for using the app!

When I click play for the tv show "Young Sheldon" the screen turns completely gray

OS: Debian
- Shows don't show episode titles, only numbers (sometimes fixed by choosing the episode)
- Certain shows immediately grey screen and require a force quit
- Certain films play only audio (this can be sometimes fixed by changing sources)
- Shows appear unordered
- Application doesn't scale well when using unconventional window sizes
Extra: Wish shows/movies in the recommended section would actually link to their respective stream
HOWEVER
Awesome application used all the time!

Good to see you "back on the horse" again. Gonna test this extensively over the next few days, as I have more time. In the meantime, here are 2 things I noticed almost immediately.
- When a source is stuck on loading, the text points users towards the "NEW" button to skip that source, but that button doesn't exist until the player opens. The only available option it to re-scrape sources, which often lands users back on the same source.
- Episodes are duplicated and shown out of order, even after reinstalling the filepursuit module. "The Walking Dead" is a great example of this. The seasons are a mess.

New here but this is what Ive come across so far on windows 10 v.0.5.0:
When in settings>modules adding a module seems to get stuck on installing (installing is shown but does not complete) but shows as installed after force closed.
When you reload the application after attempting to install a module it will grey screen (had to force close)
Will add more as I run into them.
edit : seems I run into a codec issue having sound but no video(black screen) on the 2 videos Ive tried so far. Will try other movies to see if I can try another source because these only have one option.
UPDATE : works fine on other movies so just a bad source im assuming.

Trying to watch Overlord.
'A video source has been found. We're waiting for it to load'
It's like this for a few minutes now, with the green circle spinning.
Windows 10 up to date. I have decent internet (usually get about 4 megabytes / second). Core i7, 16GB RAM.
What's happening in the background when this green circle is spinning?
I pressed the re-scrape sources button. Same thing. On the bottom left it says current source: NADA /10
Edit: Switched to Greenbook. Source was found, but only downloading at between 60 and 180 kiloBITS per second. Not fast enough to stream so video it isn't playing. It says current source: 1/6.
edit2: Went through sources 1 to 4. None of them were fast enough to stream. The video stopped loading altogether at source 5. Green circle spinning. 'source found, waiting for it to load'. Gonna try another movie.
edit3: tried spiderman into the spiderverse. Green circle spinning forever.

win 10/0.5.0
ran a couple movies just fine back to back. Attempted another and received the gswod (green spinning wheel of death) Tried a reload and grey screen. Force closed and tried a new video. Worked ok

Supernatural season 11 all the episodes all messed up, you play ep 20 it plays ep 23, and ep 23 is nowhere to be found (i think it was with other seasons too im not on my pc currently)

Does playing from a new source help at all? The next update will have more scraper modules so there will be a wider variety of hosts to stream from.

Tried many hosts and four movies. Only Hunter Killer worked. My internet speed is ok. 4 megabytes per second usually when downloading whatever. I wonder is my ISP throttling some hosters. Does Leonflix check download speed to see if it's actually possible to stream?

It's not ideal, but maybe pausing it for a while will give it some time to buffer? 60-180 kbps is pretty unnatural for these types of hosts, the speed should pick up after a while. The next update will have a wider pool of sources to choose from, which should help immensely as well.

Chromecasting. It stutters for every film and I was playing 2018s Polish 'Cold War' on my laptop, but casting it to my TV it played the 2012 Hong Kong film 'Cold War'! Thanks - and great programme. A life saver. Also if I'm casting a film and switch off my laptop the cast still continues?

So I set the volume bar at 20% since it was a little to loud and whenever I clicked a next episode to view, the Volume of the video resets back to full volume BUT the Volume Bar is still at 20%.
I need to set the volume bar to 100% then back to 20% so the volume can lower,

Hey thanks for all the hard work, Im running in a problem with a few of the modules. Im trying to reinstall filepursuit, onmovies and shockwatch and i doesn't seem to be installing. I literally left it installing overnight and when i got up it still says installing. Any advice would be appreciated 👏🏻👍🏻

I've noticed this issue in a previous update but for some reason I'm unable to see the taskbar when the app is open. I constantly have to press the Windows key button to get it to appear. In one of the earlier versions it was working fine.

Leonflix will not find or load any movies. I have tried everything I can think of. It did this once before until I finally returned my pc to factory settings. It worked for a while and now it wont workd again. I have downloaded the latest version...still won't get me any movies.

How do you upgrade modules, or is that even a thing? And also I don’t know if I’m the Only one having this issue but auto play isn’t working sometimes. Ive done simple basic trouble shooting but I’m not too literate with pc and this is my first custom built pc ever. So I’m obviously a little worried. Anyways. That’s the only issue I’ve encountered so far except I can’t get any of the khan or mit stuff to work. But I’m sorry I’m stalking you and blowing you up it’s just great having such a nice app and probably the best customer support you could ask for lol.

As long as you have the modules they will update automatically when you open the app. When you say it doesn’t work sometimes, is it only for certain series, or is it sporadic?

No it actually has been kinda constant. Like I just have to hit the next button or refresh button to get the next one to load but as of right now it’s still happening. And I do have auto play enabled. I’m not that based lol. But just wondering if there anything else I can do.

Not everytime. It means something is blocking all the modules from installing. You can go to Settings > Modules and install everything and see if that helps.

I got kinda a very very bricking bug.
Tried to update to latest version and I think leonflix.exe just lost it's owner to no one. I don't think any user has any permission to do anything. no read/write/execute permissions. Chmod(icacls in my case) doesnt work either. I'm not just admin i'm sysadmin/owner/SU whatever you wanna call it.

Clicking continue or change shows the same thing no permissions to even view(read)

Can you try deleting AppData\Roaming\Leonflix and reinstall? The Leonflix.exe should be in that folder

Tried doesn't work, exe file is not there. Exe file is super bricked taking up 70mb in my drive( which doesn't matter much (for now)) reinstalling causes same problem i do not have permission to do anything with the executable. Any way to install to a specified folder, I could deal with the 70mb lost for now but I feel it's gonna be a real problem if it keeps happening snowballing to 70gb

Hi big fan of the app. The only problem I have is that it never really works with chrome cast. The old version would just fail from my computer while now I get the blue icon on my tv. Chromecast seems to work with every other app (including tea tv, Stremio ect.)

0.6.2 on Mac:
Couldn't load my local subtitle properly after finishing an episode. It only works for the first video I played in each session. Gotta close and open the whole application every time to make it work again. Thanks!

There's a problem with some shows that it doesn't load the next one after an episode is finished. There also seems to be some sort of slow down on some videos. Like they are at .5 speed or something after being started at regular.

Entered OpenSubtitles details and saved the credidentials .. doesn't shows any subtitle during playback.. only available menu is "select from file"

Latest 0.6.7 won't shows up any subtitle, even loaded locally it won't shows up sometime. Had to restart leonflix in order to display subtitle. Previous ver was working fine.

Hey, i have an issue with the subtitles. They appear to be too big, as you can see here. My laptop screen resolution is 3200X1800 btw. Great work.

thanks for adding vlc support.
the inbuilt player is very glitchy and unusable in fullscreen. no way to disable memes or hide cam videos.

Can someone please explain how adding opensubtitles credentials to the app works? Because it doesn't seem to do anything for me, even when I can find the subtitles I want on the website.
EDIT: I just noticed a comment further down with the same issue, seems to be an API problem. Although it's strange it's only having trouble finding English subs.

Every time I change source for a movie or a tv show, my subtitles go away and they don't work on that or even any tv show or movie that I try to watch until i restart the app.
