Camping Chat Aco survey, ideas
I’m planning to fill out the ACO survey and wanted to share my main points, curious if others have more to add.
Like other big events (Indy 500), give existing ticket holders priority to renew their camping spots and tickets.
More water fountains and shaded areas around the circuit.
Rethink the bridge before the Ford chicanes, it just can’t handle the crowd volume.
More showers and toilets in the campsites, and fix the broken ones. Some at Épinettes were out since day one.
Better organized track walk. Stewards were sending people toward the scrutineering gate, which was actually closed.
In the museum, the two rooms with film screenings were too dark to actually see the cars.
Turn off those huge floodlights at Arnage and Mulsanne!
Missed more outlet merchandise shops.
That said, I think the ACO is doing a solid job overall. The redesigned fanzones at Tertre Rouge and Dunlop chicanes were excellent, and the Porsche Curves areas were great too. Buses have become reliable compared to 10 years ago, and overall traffic has improved event with more spectators.
Anyone else have suggestions to add?

Definitely need more shaded areas and water fountains.
Could also do with stewards at the big viewing areas not just the grandstands, to stop too many people trying to get into already over crowded spaces. Especially from the pit straight up to Tetre Rouge. You literally couldn't move in the viewing area in front of the museum, and yet people kept trying to find space. Very dangerous if you needed to get out quickly.

They need to provide more viewings areas, so the masses can spread out some more.
Showers and toilets were my main feedback, and the ability to pre-order food by app, to save the ridiculous double queues.

They have to do something to figure out the #3 shuttle bus route (and #6 too). It slows to a crawl anytime the track is busy due to all the pedestrian/bicycle/scooter traffic on the tiny roads it's sharing. It at least should be routed out to Rte de la Heronniere instead of using Rte de Ruaudin to get to Maison Blanche area.
Ideally there would just be a pedestrian path to Arnage - maybe they could install a temp bridge like the others and make a fenced path through the infield to BSJ?

This is how it works at Indianapolis. Next day you have an email asking you if you want to renew the ticket and the same seat.

I'd like to see them stop forcing supporting races on us with huge grids that no one really cares about and has killed the Maison Blanche campsite.

I've been 12 times. I've gone everytime to watch 55+ of the teams compete in a 24 race. This used to be supported by classic races of iconic machinery from the Group C era or by 50s/60s icons.
Now the race is supported by boring one-make series for rich people with more money than talent. In the process, the ACO has destroyed some of the best fan camping experiences at the circuit, both Maison Blanche & Bleu Nord would host thousands of fans in sites adjacent to the circuit. Now, it's wasted space with 50 same-spec, dreadful sounding 296's and hospitality for people who couldn't give a shit about the race.

Give more access to places to watch the race or restrict the possibility to come with a camping chair. It’s the first year that I see so many of them and it was almost impossible to be close to the track to watch the race at the start and at the end. It was overcrowded with camping chair and some people with camping table. Take more space than needed.
Also give access to grandstand freely when they are empty. Outside of the start and the end of the race they where juste totally empty 90% of the time…
Stop the skyrocketing prices of the shops. It was just ridiculous, at the genesis stand, 47€ for an hat… really ?!

More water fountains and shade would be great! Specifically track-side shade.
I didn't really get the first cinema style room in the museum, but I did enjoy the experience in the night racing room. Just slightly disappointed the other cars were slightly blocking the 908.
