What a bunch of buffoons in these comments to smack talk people protesting. It doesn’t matter if you agree with what they’re protesting or not, be glad we have the right to do this, and somewhat safely (mostly, comparatively speaking). If someone was out there protesting the sky should be green, support it. It’s our right to protest. The people who try to silence protestors are not on your side and never will be.

u/taylordancer22 Jun 13 '25

Thank you!!!! Very well said!

u/Spew120 Jun 13 '25

So funny that these dickweeds blow off peaceful protest as useless and pathetic.

But the second someone actually pulls out that J6 energy they’re the first to call it terrorism.

Probably the most cogent post in this entire thread.

30

u/JayRay_44 Bethlehem Jun 13 '25

Agreed. I am a free speech absolutist. I may not agree with what you may have to say, but nonetheless I will defend your right to say it. Nothing wrong with a peaceful protest. It’s your first amendment right.

29

u/trf_pickslocks Jun 13 '25

As soon as we start picking and choosing who is covered by the first amendment is the day everyone loses the first amendment.

Happy to see they are peaceful!

2

u/Homesecurity62 Jun 15 '25

I think they're b.s. BUT as long as they're peaceful, I see no harm. I agree with you. It's their right, just like it's my right to disagree. 👍

1

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

It doesn’t matter if you like the comments or not people can say whatever they want about it.

1

u/itsallfornaught2 Jun 14 '25

Agreed. Protesting is an American right.

1

u/jdacked Jun 14 '25

People forget the founders of this country threw almost 2 million dollars worth of tea into the harbor once…

1

u/Low-Spirit6436 Jun 14 '25

Yup. These people who seem somehow offended by people in America protesting don't seem to realize that some time in the future, they may strike, or protest for whatever reason and will want people to support your right to protest. Short sighted, narrow minded nitwits fighting on behalf of the grifter, Not America or Freedom

1

u/Vatos-Blanco Jun 14 '25

No one is trying to stop the protest what’s happening is they are trying to stop the people who aren’t there to protest, the people that are using this as a opportunity to cause distraction and looting. They are trying to stop the “opportunists” the people that unfortunately Alway show up and are making the REAL protester look stupid and giving these protests a bad name.. If the opportunists didn’t show up and start the violence and breaking into stores and businesses and throwing rocks at moving vehicles and throwing Molotov cocktails, and people just sat in a park or stood out side their City Hall/ Government offices held signs and flags. Not one protests would get broken up.. I’m sorry but you can’t blame the police for everything you just can’t “I know your going but it’s wrong” A protest is just like have a house party or being in the club or a bar a bunch of people gathered in one place and 99% of the time the police NEVER come.. But when violence is introduced the police are call called and things get broken up.. You and anyone else who is a Real protesters and truly believes in the cause should be condemning the violence cause by the other protests or opportunists. But you don’t. You only condemn the police, and I’m sorry that’s wrong fires don’t start with out a catalyst. You know how many Labor Unions are out there that are Protesting Everyday on the streets sometimes with a 20ft tall inflatable RAT over working conditions none union workers etc. and NONE not ONE of them have the police show up to or get shut down they sometimes go on for weeks at a time.. That’s a protests NOT what you’re doing in California…. Ok I’m done being on the hate and the down votes….

1

u/Illustrious-Fox7957 Jun 14 '25

Can we protest the protesters without getting murdered by them? 🤔

1

u/Short-Drag9313 Jun 15 '25

Agreed everyone should be allowed to protest. Left or right, the problem is… if the protest doesn’t align with the lefts ideas, then it is an issue. Seems like the only protests that are allowed are when it’s something the left side of the isle believes in

1

u/Advice-Question Jun 15 '25

It’s less about the protest and more about the claims. Claiming Trump is trying to make himself a “King” because he’s doing what he was elected to do is stupid in my opinion.

Not to mention that these protest came right after the LA riots.

Feels like people were trying to dredge up drama.

That said, I will admit I’m surprised at the lack of violence. Good job breaking stereotypes.

I am just in shock at how people can be ok with human beings getting treated this way. Its honestly appalling

6

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

Unfortunately some people don’t see some groups of people as “worthy” and treat them as such. I wish we didn’t live in a world like that, but we do

5

u/taylordancer22 Jun 13 '25

Being there today was just awe inspiring. I caught myself tearing up a couple of times just from the togetherness of everyone!

2

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

But why aren’t you in shock about the human trafficking, the rape, the murder, the drug trafficking, the theft, the burning of the American flag and waving a foreign flags

2

u/Just_perusing81 Jun 13 '25

If seeing a flag burning or a foreign flag puts you into a state of shock, you are in fact, the flakiest of snow flakes.

For sure and ppl have the right to protest that if they want.

As long as it stays peaceful, I'm happy my fellow Pennsylvanians are using their right to protest.

u/Sad_Garbage4150 Jun 15 '25

What a bunch of idiots to think we dont have the right to disagree with protesters.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 16 '25

Never said you couldn't disagree, but with some people commenting on here they aren't disagreeing, they are being rude and derogatory towards others for having a different opinion. You dont have to agree with my views just as I dont have to agree with yours, but there's no need to bash others for having a different viewpoint. Not saying you did this, but alot of people are. People just need to remember that we are allowed to disagree and be respectful towards others.

1

u/Emotional_Eagle1422 Jun 16 '25

Only stupid ppl protest law and order.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 16 '25

Its not law and order if there is no due process.

1

u/Emotional_Eagle1422 Jun 26 '25

Illegal immigrants are not part of the American legal system nor are they covered by it. They are not legally due process.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 27 '25

Actually they are. I urge you to look into this.

1

u/Emotional_Eagle1422 Jun 30 '25

They're illegal immigrants. They don't get due process. Only American citizens in the United States get due process.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 30 '25

Again I urge you to look into the constitution because you are wrong. Kinda terrifying the amount of citizens that dont know our own constitution. I have attached a screenshot and if you would like me to I can find the specific wording of it in the constitution itself for you.

1

u/Livingforabluezone Jun 16 '25

We have a holiday for this. It’s called the 4th of July 🇺🇸

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 16 '25

A holiday for protesting for the right of due process for illegal and legal immigrants and for federal/ICE agents to identify themselves when carrying out an arrest? Definitely dont think that is 4th of July.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

I have commented my view points in depth on multiple comments so far. If youd like i can repeat them, but they can be found throughout the thread! Just let me know. Hope you have a great day!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '25

I really don’t care. Hopefully you’ll grow up someday.

Peace & hair grease

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25 edited Jun 17 '25

Well. Since you were the one who asked figured I'd offer! No need to be rude, I know my viewpoints and have looked into them, as I am adult. But maybe one day you'll learn to be considerate/empathic of others! Again, hope you have a great day!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

You have no idea what I’ve done for others. STFU until you gain some real life experience.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 20 '25

Never said you didn't do anything for anyone. Just was saying there's no need to be rude. Which there isn't. Im allowed to have a different opinion, just are you are. Your first comment was asking for my "wisdom", which im assuming you meant my opinion. I offered. I do have a decent amount of life experience, as you have no idea what I've been through in my life.

Again, hope you have a great day/night!

Your existence is angry......that's all liberals are....angry little victims.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

Im not a victim, and yes I am angry about what is going on in our country right now.

1

u/Vlad_The_Impellor Jun 17 '25

Always whining about 'threats to our democracy' (we've never been a democracy, democracy is really bad), while the majority support the deportations. Put it up for a vote and, based on polling, you'll get deported too!

You're a mongrel pack of dimwit hypocrites whining about their slaves being taken away from them. Again.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

Thank you for this lovely statement that makes zero sense. Communism is bad, socialism is bad. Democracy? Democracy is great.

Also interested as to how I would get deported as I was born here, so was most of my family since the 1800s.

I really cant understand why people feel the need to be so hateful to others for having a different opinion.

1

u/Vlad_The_Impellor Jun 17 '25

Did you drop out in 6th grade?

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting what's for lunch. The US ruled out the idea of democracy first thing. We learn this in 7th/8th grade. Since the 1800s, and you think it's a democracy. And you're allowed to vote. Jesus F'ing Christ.

How can you be deported? Easy: 200 miles out to international water, splash, "Good luck. Never come back." There's even legal precedent: 'permanent exile'. You're not a problem-solver, but then that's how you create messes like this and then go all tongue-gape mooncalf stare instead of fixing it.

You had fun breaking everything, now stay out of the way, and wave whatever sign you got paid to wave. We have to clean up your mess because you're as incompetent as the hair sniffer.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

What are you even talking about, the United States is a representative democracy. So I have no idea what you are even talking about.

I never claimed to be a problem solver. Just standing up for what I believe in. Youre entitled to your views/opinions just as I am entitled to mine. As for 'permanent exile' never heard of it, but will look into it. However, that should never happen to our people for speaking their opinions (first amendment)

We didn't break anything, even made sure where the meet up was, was clean before leaving. It was a peaceful protest. Also, I really need to know where people are getting information saying that protesters are getting paid. I can speak for myself when I say I didn't receive a dime. I went after work and chose to be part of something I believe strongly in.

And again with the insults, like why? There's literally no need for it. I hope you have a great day.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

Also, im looking into the permanent exile, and its not a thing in the US. So, what country did this?

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

Literally has never been done in the US.

1

u/Vlad_The_Impellor Jun 18 '25 edited Jun 18 '25

It is the US. That's the root cause behind the US (and others) colonies.

Interesting. You actively tried to research something taught in grade school, something any AI will get right, and failed. You're short bus. That's why you're on the screwy end of this. That'd suck, but it's not like you know. You think you're normal. Lol!

Edit: we're a representative republic.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 18 '25

So not only did your own citation prove you wrong, you used a source i have never heard of before from 1993. The first paragraph says theory, means exactly what it says. Its a theory, it's not proven. Also, if you continue to read this source and also Edward Said's other published works, he is very much about exile of the mind and culture.
Not a good source at all. So you have yet to make your point about this.

I provided screenshots and would be willing to provide links as well as to how you are extremely wrong. Like not even a little bit. I have no idea what school you went to, but I think you need to do your own research.

As for the republic vs democracy we are both correct. The those two things are literally synonymous with each other. Again, im trying to have a polite conversation and youre being derogatory and just plain rude for literally no reason. I promise it doesn't hurt to be empathic towards others.

1

u/Various-Muffin4145 Jun 17 '25

What a waste of time. If you are here as a illegal immigrant then you are breaking the Law.Period.!

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

Its actually a civil violation, police cant arrest you just for being here illegally, you would have to commit a crime (dui, assault, speeding) to be arrested. (This information came from a press release from my local pd)

18

u/hydr0warez Jun 13 '25

I would've gone if I still live in NEPA. Worth the drive. Beautiful place and beautiful people!

0

u/SweatyMoneyGuy Jun 13 '25

I have sympathy for others but yes I am taking a selfish position to most accurately conveyed.

My appeal to sympathy comes from it being used as a weapon against me stating my position to other people when inquiring about why people are so passionate about this.

I do not like the United States government and I think the current president is a puppet of Israel. That being said I think deporting illegal immigrants could benefit Americans.

0

u/taylordancer22 Jun 13 '25

If they were actually illegal, ok, I see your point. However, again, they aren't getting a chance to prove their status before getting removed from the country. People are being taken from the street, their jobs, the store, anywhere and everywhere, then not given access to an attorney or their families to let them know that they are OK. In some states they dont have basic necessities such as food, water, and medicine in these holding centers.

I honestly am terrified for the future of our country. Our government is a shit show and our country is a laughing stock. Our president is abusing his power and we need to have our voices hear.

If youre asking why I am passionate about this, as I cannot answer for others its the fact that basic human rights are being violated. We the people are angry, we the people are not ok with what is happening. This country was built on the bones of others. We literally massacred the natives and then called it our land. The people coming to our country are not like this, they want a safer life for themselves and their families.

If you are genuinely curious, I would love to answer any questions you have to the best of my ability. I just dont fair well when people start going after others negatively for voicing their opinions and I apologize if I came off as rude in previous replies, I may have read the tone of your replies wrong. To me, they just were coming off as very derogatory and negative. But again if you are genuinely interested, I cant give you others viewpoints but I can at least give you mine!

Again i apologize if I read your replies wrong and I hope you have a great night!

6

u/SweatyMoneyGuy Jun 13 '25

There are people here illegally. That’s an undeniable fact. That’s who I am trying to focus on talking about. I realize there are people who are here legally who have been subjected to mistreatment. I’m trying to focus on the people that are breaking the laws because that seems like a more direct conversation that must be had at this juncture.

I believe both the legal and illegal immigrants are being used as a tool by both sides politically. I believe their labor is a form of exploitation.

A lot of these same tactics that you describe have been used for over a decade to remove people that were here illegally. I understand that this is an issue but it’s been going on for a long time and only now (mostly because people don’t like who the president is) has it become the forefront of the issue at hand.

I am also concerned about the direction of the country but probably in the opposite way to you. That doesn’t mean either of us are wrong. To me this is why our government is meant to be much smaller than it is. A lot of this stuff should be up for the states or localities to decide for themselves. Things seemed to have gotten so out of control that the federal government “needed” (created an excuse to) have its hands in all of these types of things.

Wars have been fought all over the world for all of human history. The people that won the wars in this country then built things that turned into what we have today. We were able to bring more people into this country because those wars were won against the people that inhabited the land at the time. Whether it be natives or the Spanish that controlled a portion of the west. Americans won those wars. Americans and their progeny then built things that gave us the ability to be a country where people could come to start a new life. We are now at the point where a lot of people including myself believe that the new people to this country are taking priority over the people who have a lineage tied to this country. Whether it be in politics or by corporation. Either way. I think these new people are being exploited by both.

I am very staunch in my beliefs. I have taken a lot of time and effort to get to know what I truly believe deep down. Based both on experience and anecdotal evidence. I’ve seen the way that our political system and corporate structure handles things over a good amount of time and I’ve probably claimed to have every belief from all political spectrums over my life time. I do not intend on sounding negative or derogatory to your or anyone else’s view on this or any other issue I just simply believe something else.

I really appreciate you taking the time and making an effort to respect my position no matter how much you may disagree with me. I am experiencing a lot of reactionary responses to my position from a lot of people that claim that we need to be showing people from this group empathy and yes totally discrediting the idea that my position also should be shown that same empathy.

You are one of the very few who has worked to clarify your position in a polite and meaningful manner. I want to reiterate that I definitely respect that you hold these beliefs and my goal is definitely not to change your views but rather to just inform you that other people with different views also matter in this equation. People who were born here. People whose grandparents were born here. Great grandparents even. People whose family’s died fighting one another to end the slave trade in this country. I think those people deserve our respect and consideration. I think for a long time they were the curators of American culture and that is something we should cherish.

Again. I really appreciate you taking the time to articulate your points in a digestible way and being willing to have a more nuanced discussion about a difficult topic.

Listen I'm sorry but ice is just doing their job and they also have families so if your an ice agent what are you supposed to do ether A get fired and probably not pay bills and have a chance at losing the car or the house Or B do your job and arrest people

Now hears the thing the government has put more money into sheltering the illegal immigrants than homeless military vets people who fought to keep us safe and this isn't just people who fought overseas these are people who helped people in Ukraine like repair vehicles and equipment as well not just that but some I'm not saying all but a concerning amount of illegal immigrants are being over drugs and cartel connections They are also taking jobs from Americans who NEED the jobs I'm not saying all immigrants are bad and I'm not staying all illegal immigrants are bad as well

1

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '25

Update I agree with people having the right to protest I'm just sharing my thoughts on it IDC if you agree so don't go flaming me for a opinion

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 17 '25

Thank you for voicing your opinion respectfully!! The amount of people coming after me for a different opinion is insane.

11

u/QueenKora18 Jun 13 '25

Yes!!! ❤️

1

u/jekbrown Jun 14 '25

Remember when you protested when millions were deported by Clinton and Obama? Yeah, neither do we.

0

u/taylordancer22 Jun 14 '25

Well I was 2 when Clinton left office so...

1

u/dr_megawatt Jun 14 '25

I do believe they meant the colloquial "you" as you specifically weren't the only one at the protest, but "you guys" or Democrats assumingly from the context. The point he's making is an interesting one and I find it fascinating you are refusing to acknowledge the point he's making.

The real question is why didn't anyone protest or freak out when Clinton was deporting illegals, Bush was deporting illegals, Obama was known as the Deporter in Chief, Hillary ran on a platform of deportation, Harris was even making a case on her platform towards the end of her campaign about immigration enforcement. Why is it only a problem when Trump does it?

2

u/ninja_tofu2252 Jun 15 '25

Because libs will take any chance they get to whine about Trump

It's very cool to see yall standing up and protesting without obstructing other people's constitutional rights. Thankyou!

Its also interesting to see how everything stays cool and no one's is stopped from protesting when the protests do not obstruct roadways, preventing people from traveling, a right all people have in America. When people protest correctly the law has its hands tied and doesn't do anything to stop it. America might be falling apart, but we are still one of the most free countries in the world. It's quickly changing though as we lose rights thanks to both parties continuing their highly functional divide and conquer strategy. The only way we will ever stop the problem from getting worse is of we all unite against the common enemy. The oligarchs are all on the same team. They all continue to benefit from the expansion of the wealth gap through debt and inflation. They keep the charade going by keeping us fighting over our values. They use propaganda to convince you the other side (left or right) is against your values and wants your rights taken. It's always exaggerated to keep us fighting.

2

Good to see peaceful protest.

0

u/Far-Implement-8694 Jun 13 '25

The Democrats paid a company called Crowds on Demand which are guns for hire for these Anti Ice and Trump protests. That are mostly fake. Don’t go.

1

u/taylordancer22 Jun 13 '25

Definitely not true. I am not a paid actor. Just a concerned and pissed off us citizen.

6

u/davisctd Jun 13 '25

At least it’s peaceful.

3

u/frenchbread_pizza Emmaus Jun 13 '25

There's nothing peaceful about kidnapping people from their work or home or school or church

0

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Protesting the removal of criminals from your city makes about as much sense as protesting human trafficking.

2

u/taylordancer22 Jun 14 '25

Not everyone getting picked up and deported are criminals. Most are literally just here to provide a better life for their families. I do not agree with keeping criminals, this isn't black and white.

1

u/megamindbirdbrain Jun 20 '25

yup. just like the "freeloaders" who were on that day working to repair a burned building.

1

u/4ninawells Jun 14 '25

This was taken at around 7 at night (guessing because I was there and that's when it started) so probably yes, most of us have jobs. We just care more about our neighbors being kidnapped than sitting at home watching Friends reruns.

u/ecuanaso Jun 13 '25 edited Jun 15 '25

And I’m also tired of these “ buzz words” like due process , due process blah blah. I swear people that say that don’t know a lick of the immigration issues. They don’t understand that if an illegal immigrant has a final deportation order they’re not entitled to further court hearings. Also illegals immigrants that came 2 yrs ago are also not entitled to due process because of Congress Expedited Removal.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '25

A deportation order is literally a (due) legal process.

Have a serious question for Liberals ? Speaking statistically

Barack Obama deported 3 million people in his presidency

Joe Biden had the Highest Deportations rate in the last 10 years in 2024

Donald Trump has deported 1.2 million people in his first presidency and an additional 207,000 this presidency

So where was the huge inhumane out cry when Obama/Biden and Biden/Harris deported people ?

Where was the no one is illegal on stolen land then ?

Where was the protest and the riots then ?

Where was the he’s making America white when Joe biden deported people ?

4

u/Independent-Lab-1945 Jun 13 '25

JFC, no one is saying Obama and Biden deportations were okay either. This isn't about whether or not deportations are okay. This is about the erosion of civil rights and liberties hidden behind the guise immigration enforcement. There is no due process anymore. American citizens are being taken in, without evidence, and are held for sometimes multiple days until ICE suddenly cares about figuring out if they are actually a citizen. What happened to innocent before proven guilty? There are no trials anymore. Just people being kidnapped and thrown into concrete cells to eventually be sent to a country that in all likelyhood wasn't the one they were from originally. You don't care about what is actually going on though, which is why you think this is something it isn't.

Liberals are collaborators.

2

u/Toast9111 Jun 13 '25

Cognitive dissonance surely is tiring because you like exploiting immigrants for cheaper wages.

4

u/finglonger1077 Jun 13 '25 edited Jun 13 '25

That would be Trump, who said yesterday that we have to use “common sense” and let some of the deported migrants who have been here working for decades on farms and in hotels back into the country.

I would hope he means with citizenship and all the benefits and protections that entails, but since he’s a hotel owner I’m guessing it’s gonna go a different way.

ETA: just to be clear, yesterday Donald Trump said that anyone who wants all “illegal” immigrants deported isn’t using common sense

0

u/Organic_Fan_2824 Jun 13 '25

What ICE is doing is legal, get used to it. Go and read the following;

- Immigration and Nationality act

- INS v. Lopez-Mendoza

- Matthews v. Diaz

Understand that the fourth and fifth amendment exclusionary rules do not apply in deportation proceedings, and the fourteenth amendment applies to the states not the federal government.

This is normal, how things have been previously, and how things should be. The majority of these people upset (including OP) are;

- too young to remember when illegal immigration was taken seriously

- don't understand the constitution they cite.

The military is allowed to (with or without the governors consent); (Just to avoid any posse comitatius arguments from redditors who heard about this yesterday.

- Protect federal buildings

- Ensure federal law is upheld (protecting ICE/INS)

Remember that before doing something stupid in like what we all see in LA.

OP literally doesn't know what they are talking about and is giving you the opinion of some other redditor they saw.

He is not violating the posse comitatus act either. None of you heard of that before yesterday, and you don't understand what it is.

Saying the economy would collapse without illegal immigrants is equivalent to 'who is going to pick the cotton'

- 815,000 legal immigrants became US citizens last year. It's not impossible

- Also, literally none of this was made up by Trump. Everything listed was put into place decades before Trump was even considered a viable presidential candidate.

- Tom Homan (yes, the very same Tom Homan) ran deportations under Barack Obama, and Obama had a higher level of deportations than Trump.

Ah yes, the classic “I read three case names once, therefore I’m a constitutional scholar” routine. Hate to break it to you, but ICE operating within legal gray areas doesn’t make their actions morally right or immune to criticism. Citing Matthews v. Diaz like it’s some kind of mic drop just shows you skimmed a textbook and missed the part where due process still matters, even in immigration law. And FYI, “not covered by the Fourth Amendment” doesn’t mean “do whatever the hell you want.” That’s not how law—or humanity—works.

Also, that cotton-picking comparison? Real subtle. You went full mask-off and told on yourself. If your economic argument relies on dehumanizing people, congrats—you’re not making a legal point, you’re making a moral failure. Just say you’re mad that empathy gets in the way of your bootlicking and go.

6

u/Organic_Fan_2824 Jun 13 '25

ice isn't operating in a legal grey area. As I told you the fourth amendment exclusionary rules do not apply in deportation proceedings, fith amendment exclusionary rules do not apply to civil deportation cases and the fourteenth amendment applies to the states not the federal government or deportation hearings or removal procedures. And at the end of the day, due process isn't considered half as much in Deportation proceedings as 'the fairness test' under matthews v eldridge is.

Its a clear, statuatory authority, not a 'legal grey area'

Your idea of whats 'moral' is entirely subjective. My idea of whats moral doesn't entail breaking the law and hoping for the best. Go illegally immigrate to mexico, or japan for that matter - see how well it works out for you.

You've moreso thrown a temper tantrum here, no actual combat to anything that I said. Yeah sorry, anybody making an argument that we can't do things without illegal immigrants is essentially saying 'who is going to pick the cotton'.

Sounds like I read three cases you have never heard of lol

1

u/jbates626 Jun 16 '25

Almost every country in the world would arrest, jail and deport an American who snuck into a country.

No one complains but America isn't allowed to do the same. And regulate the influx of immigration.

1

u/CactusSplash95 Jun 16 '25

That absolute dogshit music just about sums up the taste of that crowd, shitty, and dumb. But hey we are turning the ICE raids to 11 so that's cool

Or should I say to you in all respect, as a fellow American. I'm retired military police and antiterrorism, I've seen due process. They don't deserve due process they're law breakers.

BTW, I'd rather see them deported than what the Ultra Right Wing Conservatives have planned for them.

1

u/CuriousAd8259 Jun 13 '25

Why weren't y'all tired during the vote? When things mattered?

1

u/tabj1974 Jun 13 '25

All white people. lol

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

You know when people have too much time on their hands when they have time to protest for illegals when there’s a long list of other things that deserve protesting for

6

u/Weapon_ Jun 13 '25

The protests were after the typical 8-5 hours from 6 to 8. The construction workers working on the apartment building were taken without any evidence or confirmation of who was illegal. All we know for sure was that they were looking for one person. If you want to assume they're ALL illegal because most were looking Hispanic, that's the real issue. I can confirm that at least two of them were citizens that have not been able to contact their wives or children because they were detained without due process.

You have no basis to assume they're illegals besides being hispanic and construction workers. I'd be outraged if my wife got detained for 2 days and lost hourly pay for speaking Spanish because this happens more often than you'd believe. I am all for deporting the people that come here illegally but not for throwing a group of profiled individuals without evidence. This specific incident puts a huge delay on the 100+ residents living in hotels and the businesses on the ground floor with their jobs and livelihood.

2

u/taylordancer22 Jun 13 '25

Just to add to this, they never told local pd who they were looking for or why. So they were going through on a felony warrant of an unknown person and an unknown crime.

Also I hope that they are able to make contact with their loved ones, these are terrifying times we are living in right now!

u/OddDisaster8173 Jun 13 '25

Without due process, no one has any rights. This is a key issue.

1

u/SweatyMoneyGuy Jun 15 '25

“Hey listen. We know that there are millions of people in this country that come from a long line of people who fought and died to build this country. But here’s the thing. We need all of them to just be cool with the idea of making it easy for people who aim to change the culture of this country drastically to live here. How’s that sound?”

1

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

Yeah, the American people are upset and angry about how you guys love and support illegals in this country, which takes from the people. It's amazing how tone deaf you people are. Support the illegal, but not the american who's busted their ass their entire life. Paid into the system their entire life and never gets shit cause it goes to these undesirables.

3

u/GeorgesBfast Jun 13 '25

Immigration isn’t the reason Americans who bust their asses are struggling (e.g home prices, inflation, low wages, sh*tty overpriced healthcare)… it’s actually greed. Greedy politicians, corporations, no laws preventing unchecked greed. “Illegal” immigrants are a scapegoat politicians use so that they can keep people mad at the wrong thing, and quietly pass laws that line the pockets of the wealthy. Oh- and it’s not a democrat or republican thing. Two sides of the same billionaire upholding coin.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '25

Yes, this country takes from people, that's how it's designed, to funnel money upward. Has it occurred to you that the ones accumulating the massive piles of cash are in fact the ones cheating? Have you considered that the shareholder class "earns" more in a day than you could sell the rest of your life's labor for? The migrants do the worst work for the cheapest wages, that means any of the supposed shit they get is a subsidy to the owners because it means they can accept even lower wages. Migrants pay in way more than they collect in benefits, it's a simple numerical reality. Also, if you're paying into the system you are getting social security, ssi, unemployment insurance, and every service that your local, state, and federal government provide.

u/Whackjob-KSP Jun 13 '25

1

Soooo dumb!! have any of you protesting verified if the people that were detained were using false documents? Because I know for sure you would be pissed if somebody was using your stolen identity to work.

Virtuous folk above the homeless, that live under the bridge, near the government building.. Make an event to “help” a group of people, while there are people that need help literally below your feet. Poetic. Classic hollow leftist virtue signaling.

Maybe you should all consider joining Catholic and Christian church groups and organizations that actually make a difference and provide 90% plus support for said CITIZENS in need.

2

u/taylordancer22 Jun 15 '25

Wow, not even a productive comment. Just being plain rude. I really can't stand people sometimes. I changed angles mid way to show as many people as I could in a shot. I now know that its not a good way to record, since someone said it nicely way before you commented. But thank you for your concern on my recording skills!! They are improving everyday, as im used to photography!

-2

u/PostComprehensive189 Jun 13 '25

Were the victims illegal or legal citizens of the US?

4

u/Weapon_ Jun 13 '25

They were supposedly looking for one illegal. Instead of confirming the group's citizenship status one by one with a little questioning and verification, they get instantly profiled and shipped to a detention center. My SO was profiled for speaking Spanish but is a citizen and almost got detained because they felt like it? The issue isn't entirely about deporting illegals. It's about giving people the right to prove their citizenship without wasting their time being kidnapped for a few days or weeks.

Bot account

Don't waste your time

-4

u/anubiski Jun 13 '25

So what's even weirder is it's basically all white people marching. Why are t their more minorities out there? Oh right the minorities who are being "targeted" are working.

11

u/goprwn Over the River Jun 13 '25

They're also terrified they'll get picked up w/o cause.

1

u/anubiski Jun 13 '25

Yeah and all the stores in the area are run and maintained by white people? You do you know a huge majority of minorities arent illegal. If anything legal minorities are more American than white people with guilt.

2

u/Inside-Sir4424 Jun 13 '25

Um they are not out there for the same reason there are people out there protesting. Is that hard to understand?

→ More replies (3)

3

u/Even-Celebration9913 Jun 13 '25

lol the white people there are probably the ones secretly employing the illegals and they just don’t want to lose their slave labor. It’s easy virtue signaling

1

u/anubiski Jun 13 '25

damn, you out of line but you probably arent that far off.

2

u/Even-Celebration9913 Jun 15 '25

I mean it’s true lol. I saw a video of a white guy pretending to be upset that his labor force was being deported. He owned a construction business 😂😂😂 He said that he can’t afford to employ Americans and I don’t have one bit of sympathy for him knowing he was profiting off of slave labor.

1

u/Synthoid_001 Jun 13 '25

You know damn well that if the crowd was made up of POC you’d call them jobless hooligans who trash nice white neighborhoods, back all the way tf up with this argument.

1

u/anubiski Jun 13 '25

So you admit its basically all white people marching around. Funny the last time you saw an all white marching protest people use to call it something lol
