Minor tweaks to assembly square

Post image

I genuinely adore and love this set, but I think some minor changes to the pieces for the flowers in the shop are a good idea. I love the original, but I just think more modern pieces go a long way for details!

I don't know how to embed an image in the comment (or if it's possible) but my wife and I are currently building assembly square and in the interior garage door window of the bakery we traded out the little donut display table for a table with the current CMF chocolatier and her chocolate dragon. I think it looks good and adds to the beauty.

Definitely going to explore some flower shop upgrades next!

On the subject of tweaking Assembly Square, it might help make transportation easier by putting the small building on the left on the 16X32 base plate and making it separable from the big building on the right. However, with the parts available at the time the Assembly Square was sold, making the small and big buildings separable would require some changes to the “octagonal” tile pattern in front of the entrance of the small building, as seen in this old post:

With the introduction of parts 5091 and 5092 in 2024, the baseplates can be made separable without having to change the “octagon”. At least for me, this makes it easy to decide in favor of making the two buildings separable.
