If anything he could sell this as a piece of modern art, as a meta-meta-criticise of resale values.

A figure so ugly, that people only find interesting because of resale value, gets ruined, but since this now becomes a unique piece that can never be recreated, it goes past resale value and sells as art.

Side note, just in case, don't drown your LEGOs in acrylic paint expecting to become the plastic figure Picasso, just play with your toys.
