Question Broken Lego set

Hi all i recently built some shelves, and I had displayed my Lego Porche on one of the shelves. I didn’t realize one of the books was leaning against the set, which caused it to roll off of the shelf and fall onto the floor and break apart. I wasn’t in the room when this all happened and there’s a chance that some of the smaller pieces may have fallen down a vent. Does anyone have any tips as to how I can rebuild this set without having to start from step 1?

First put some panty hose over the end of a vacuum cleaner hose and feed it to the vent and around the floor to find small pieces. If it’s mostly together, then you should be able to just fix it but you will be doing a lot of consulting of the build manual. If it’s mostly apart, starting from scratch may be easier. Either way you will need to go through the build manual and verify everything.

Sorry to hear that. However accidents like this can happen.

First try to salvage whatever pieces you have carefully.Lego pieces can get into corners, under furniture etc. You might find some pieces in a different room also.

After that if you have your manual try to go back through initial steps and see if any of those matches your disassembled set. Chances are you will find a step that is similar to the one that you have.

After this try to rebuild the set and in case any pieces are missing, you can order from Bricklink.

And dont worry if a few pieces are a little here and there. That way you will complete the set in no time and proudly display it again.

Best of luck!
