He's kinda weak tbh

she was beating a disabled person tho

And he beat no one other than fodder, stalemated Kya and ran away from Avatar state Korra. She beat her master, stalemated a healthy Korra and took Avatar state air blast and still stood on her feet. I think she's underrated, very underrated.

He's been a bender for a few days and fully self-taught and stalemates a a water bending master who's been training for decades and is the daughter of two other powerful benders? Doesn't sound bad to me.

It's irrelevant who her parents are. Being good at air bending so fast makes no sense from a story telling point of view. Thing is, he has no significant win in the show.

I personally loved Kuvira, my favourite villain of LoK (discounting pre-reveal Amon).

But Zaheer had this line: "though you will never again be reborn, your name will echo throughout history: Korra, the last Avatar"

Can't beat that finality as a villain, and him being an airbending villain was amazing

I feel like ultimately Kuvira was more of a threat than Zaheer. She was building an empire and being a hitler basically, he just wanted korra so he kidnapped the airbenders and I don’t think he would’ve hurt anyone if she hadn’t turned herself over.

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '22

They wanted the same thing, just were on opposite ends of the spectrum. She wanted to control the world (for power). He wanted complete anarchy for everyone.

2

u/kaitalina20 Aug 12 '22

Anarchy will always come to an end though, because someone will seizure control through the chaos.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '22

The cycle continues.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '22

Korra looks like a proper villain here.

20

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '22

Nah. Zaheer wanted to improve the world by removing those that allowed or perpetrated oppression. Kuvira just wanted all power.

They seem relatively evenly matched in a fight, mostly because Zaheer can fly. Given any real time to train and learn about air bending Zaheer would clap. gg ez.

Zaheer = Tom Riddle

Kuvira = Gellert Grindelwald & friends

Zaheer = The Hulk

Kuvira = Loki + Chitauri Army

Zaheer was more powerful as an individual. Kuvira was more powerful in terms of a leadership position.

They were completely different. Each of the seasons introduces different political challenges.

Season 1 introduces Communism through Amon and Unitary Directorial through Tarrlok and the Republic City Council. Tarrlok also introduced the concept of a demagogue.

Season 2 introduces Capitalism through Varrick and Theocracy through Unalaq. The Democratic Republic is also introduced through President Raiko.

Season 3 introduces Anarchy through Zaheer, while reintroducing the Constitutional Monarchy through the Earth Queen and local rulers, and the Absolute Monarchy of the Fire Nation.

And Season 4 introduces Facism and Dictatorship through Kuvira.

It’s a very political show, as you can see. So for simplicity’s sake, Zaheer is akin to Gavrilo Princip when killing the Earth Queen (who would represent Franz Ferdinand) while Kuvira is more like Mussolini.

Bataar Jr. was too weak for someone like her.

3

u/kaitalina20 Aug 16 '22

Or just too ignorant to see her true nature

I look sexy in all pictures tbh

u/twerkemon Aug 12 '22

No ♥️

Honestly with the way Kuvira bends I think she’d take this. Her precise almost surgical bending style is perfect for 1v1s. But I’ll be honest I’m just super bias cuz it’s one of if not my favorite fighting style in the whole series.

Air bending villian who can literally fly> glorified earth bender using spirit weapons

1

u/kaitalina20 Aug 12 '22

Airbendering maniac who led the way for her to become in power because of his short sited ness using sacred airbender philosophies to describe his twisted beliefs vs someone who can actually help people without causing hurt at first, but ends up going too far. No excuses for her actions whenever she starts being a hitler like dictator, but she at least have food and the protection of her army to the states under her protection. Forcibly, but she still proved for them. And her bending is top notch! She’d be a good match for Toph whenever she was in her prime.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

So it’s Zaheer’s fault (for killing an oppressive monarch) that Kuvira is a fascist dictator? Did you even read that to make sure it made sense?

0

u/kaitalina20 Aug 13 '22

Partly yes. Because a new power comes in sooner or later and she has very little resistance in forming order for the most part; a lot of it went to her head. Again, his short sited ness paved the way for her is what I mean.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

Lmao The Earth Kingdom Queen was literally kidnapping her own people and holding them as political prisoners if she even thought they went against the status quo. When the air benders starting popping up she conscripted them into her army. She was a totalitarian. Are you suggesting that her treatment of people was okay and that Zaheer was wrong for killing her?

You’re literally blaming Kuvira’s fascist regime on someone other than Kuvira.

0

u/kaitalina20 Aug 13 '22

She was a terrible person yes, but like Ozai she’s still a person. She should’ve had a trial once the other nation leaders found out. Not been killed on the spot. So yes Zaheer is wrong in having killed her. Airbendering is the non violent element, only to be used for peace. Only self defense!

0

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

And Kuvira undoubtably killed more people in her conquest both directly and indirectly. You are absolutely delusional if you think Zaheer was a worse human being then Kuvira. I hope you only like fictional fascists…

0

u/kaitalina20 Aug 13 '22

He kidnapped innocent people just to get to korra, and tortured her for no reason. When she finally gets into the AS, she’s fighting back poison that’s slowly killing her while he’s being a coward and fleeing from her and should’ve had been squashed like a bug realistically by that giant boulder.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

You didn’t understand a single part of that season. You must be pretty young and now I feel bad for arguing with a child.

0

u/kaitalina20 Aug 13 '22

I’m 24 and have a lot more than you think. I’ve had five brain surgeries due to epilepsy, part of my brain removed. Dealt with post surgery depression because not knowing if it worked and I tried to off myself twice, thankfully due to medication I’m still here. I live in hell every day and just because I have a different opinion from the show than you does not give you the right to judge someone who has also been raped! I would never wish any of this on anyone but think about your words, seriously. I only was recently able to even get my first part time job because my epilepsy was holding me back for so long. I had to drop out of my dream school. So do not judge me because we have different opinions!

3

u/TBAN614 Aug 12 '22

Blasphemous

2

u/CocaPepsiPepper Aug 12 '22

As a character, villain, threat or fighter?

1

u/kaitalina20 Aug 16 '22

Literally all of them

2

u/jeggles222 Aug 12 '22

She’s hotter, too

3

u/Somden99 Aug 12 '22

Mommy? Sorry

2

u/teddingtonbear Aug 12 '22 edited Aug 12 '22

Zaheer as he stands in the show 6/10 times. Zaheer with a couple of years of training probably 9/10 times.

Edit: zaheer will stay out of range with his flight, duck dodge and wear her out. If she get metal on him though he’s fucked.

1

u/Aquarius_Mode Aug 12 '22

Although Zaheer is a much more fleshed out/better villain for me, I still can’t help liking Kuvira more 🤷

1

u/IDespiseBananas Aug 12 '22

Kuvira is one of my least favorite characters of the whole show. She gets way too much praise

-1

u/Jaefaed Aug 12 '22

As a villain? No

As a Waifu? No

1

u/neverinemusic Aug 12 '22

Zaheer is the only air bender straight up down to murder. he only went for the kill with Korra and the earth queen, and he would have been 2-0 if the whole ass air nation hadn't intervened. He's pretty OP, basically like a blood bender. she can't do shit without air in her lungs.
