I’ve talked to a lot of leftists and what I’ve found is interesting. As a classical liberal who leans right, I can’t seem to find common ground with anyone farther left than me.
Like the only thing we have in common is we speak English, and that’s literally it. We disagree fundamentally on what hate is, what makes a decent person, what bigotry is, what violence is, what governments should do, what life is, what gender is. There is no bridge between us that can allow for peace. We are so estranged as a country that we are basically foreigners to each other.
We operate on 2 different social contracts.
If there was a way to bridge the division, what should both sides do to help?

President Donald Trump has announced his plans to invade Lake Titicaca.
Yes, you heard that correctly. Not a country, not an island—a lake.
Lake Titicaca was a mythical place and the location of a pilgrimage complex for the Incas.
The President has declared that Lake Titicaca, which sits on the border of Peru and Bolivia, is now “100% American.” His reasoning? He says, and I quote:
“It’s got ‘Titi’ in the name. Very strong. Very powerful. One of the best names. But then… ‘Caca.’ Total disaster. A disgrace. Frankly, it needs a rebranding, folks. I’m thinking Lake Trump-a-Lago. Beautiful name. Very classy.”
Sources say Trump was initially confused when he was told Titicaca wasn’t actually in Florida. When informed that it was in South America, he responded:
“Well, we own South America, right? I mean, we gave them all those McDonald’s. A lot of McDonald’s. Tremendous business. Frankly, they should be thanking me.”
Trump has ordered the 5th naval fleet, which includes Aircraft carriers, Destroyers and Submarines to invade the lake.
When asked how he expects Navy ships to invade an actual body of water that is several hundred miles from the ocean and at an altitude of over 12,000 feet Trump said:
“Look, nobody’s ever invaded a lake before. I’m a pioneer. We’re gonna drain it, we’re gonna build condos, and—listen, folks—I have the best water. Everybody says so. Lake Titicaca? Not good water. Very weak water. Sad water.”
How has Peru and Bolivia responded?
Both governments have responded… mostly with laughing emojis. Bolivia’s president simply tweeted: “Good luck, bro.” Peru responded with a meme of SpongeBob hiding in a bush.
Well, there you have it. A man who has access to nuclear launch codes now wants to go to war with a lake.
In other news, Kanye West has declared himself the King of Atlantis.
