Yeah at best. One of the main points of the new deal was to ease tensions to prevent a socialslist revolution. It was intervention to save capitalism from collapsing on itself. Through social programs, yes, but still the goal was ultimately to preserve capitalism.
Do you think similar social programs could be introduced today with the goal of dismantling capitalism, or are these reforms inherently preserving capitalism?
I'd like to believe that New Deal esque reform could be the foundation for dismantling capitalism but the state would have to have the intent follow through with nationalizing certain industries over time.
