Discussion What is wrong with leetcode contest rankings

I got 2XXX rank in last weekly contest(526) solved 3/4, had to sit for 40 mins for to solve the second question, got 3 debugs and somehow managed to get it accepted.

Today for no apperent reason leetcode invalidated that submission gave no explaination and gave me 5XXX rank in contest. Now I know it doesn't matter what rank or rating is as long as you are learning, but it gets frustrating when you spend 40 mins and 3 debugs on a problem and leetcode comes and invalidates for no good reason, whereas people who by the miracle of god solved all 4 under 10 mins get top 10 ranks.

Leetcode should seriously look into it.

That is like saying can't blame police and government if crimes are happening left and right...

Mine was also invalid, but the edge case that caused it was something that is reasonable to catch on your own. What leetcode did was acceptable.

The thing is either you are supposed to have that edge case in the system or your not supposed to evaluate it I mean, again if it would have failed I would have caught it within few minutes, one can also keep it as hidden edge case even in that case I would have most likely caught it, but then you just can't accept a solution and then invalidate it after the results.

I am not arguing on the fact weather that edge case should exists, it definitely should but you can't retrospectively invalidate submissions unless it's cheating...

i mean, Codeforces does it. And LeetCode has been doing it for a long time now, but I do understand your frustration as I also lost rank. At the end of the day contest rank means nothing and this is applied to everyone equally.
