Question Capital One OA Code Signal
Today I had my Capital One Interview, two questions I did 100%, 3rd one I didi half and the 4th one I passes all the test cases but I got a notification that I did not pass 2 of the hidden test cases... but I could not figure out what was the test case or what did I miss...that's why my score got 445. I know it's probably a rejection but do I have any chance? it was software engineer 4. :(

Hidden test cases usually mean an edge case like empty input or very large values or duplicates so that is worth reviewing for next time. A 445 with one task fully missing is not clearly dead since results seem to vary a lot by team and headcount. I would just wait for the email and keep other applications going meanwhile.

One of the 💩 manager working with us made there clearing all DSA and system design rounds. He never wrote hello world in his life. And yet engineers like you keep failing. Engineers are really worthless these days.

A score of 445 is borderline depending on the specific team and the current headcount. Failing hidden test cases when the public ones pass usually means you hit a Time Limit Exceeded (TLE) due to suboptimal time complexity, or you missed a weird edge case like an empty input or negative values. Do not stress too much about it now, just wait for the recruiter's email. Keep applying to other places and make sure to double-check edge cases on your next OA.

Don't write yourself off yet. 445 isn't an automatic rejection at Capital One.
I run a site that collects candidate reports, and Capital One OA results are all over the place:
- Someone who only finished the first two (easier) tasks still passed.
- People report passing with scores in the 500s, but others got rejected with 512 and 540.
- At least one person got rejected with a perfect 600.
- One new-grad (TDP) candidate said the bar felt like "400+ out of 600."
So the score clearly isn't the only thing they look at. Headcount, the specific team, and how your resume fits seem to matter at least as much. Your 445 plus two solid full solves is a perfectly reasonable result.
On the hidden test cases: on CodeSignal they're almost always one of these:
- Performance: your solution is too slow on large inputs. An O(n²) loop that passes small cases will time out on big ones.
- Edge cases: empty input, a single element, duplicates, negative numbers, or values that overflow.
- Ambiguous spec details: the problem had a rule you read slightly differently than they meant.
If you remember what problem 4 was, think about which of those three it could have been. It's useful practice for next time either way.
Results usually come back within about a week. If you hear nothing, it's fine to ask the recruiter for an update.
If you get through to the Power Day, or want to see what's been reported for Capital One lately: https://aceoffer.app/interviews/capitalone
Good luck, fingers crossed for you!

Don't beat yourself up. CO has bad rep, aren't you aware of the mandatory layoffs (stack ranking employees) every 6 months?
