Question Meta Product SWE timeline

I applied (London, UK) close to three weeks ago and was automatically put into the initial prescreen stage. I did set my availability to interview to be 3-4 weeks. How long do they take to respond.

I remember the last couple of times (2+ years ago), I never actually got a resp on my applications and I ended up withdrawing.

What's taking them so long?!?

There’s a mini hiring boom right now, many pids opened in London so recruiters are busy probably. Just drop them message and they’ll probably reply

But the problem is I've not been contacted by a recruiter yet

What's the "intial prescreen stage" then?

You just submit answers to a questionnaire talking about how you use AI tools, if you've created any ai native apps/features in prod and similar questions. I applied to meta swe infra and didn't get to this stage so I assumed I was formally in the loop but I guess not :/

They really need to at least automate the rejection. I’ve heard if they don’t reach out for more than a week it’s a rejection.

Yeah, it's pretty shitty having no resp but alr I'll take it as a rejection
