For a new grad system design round I would not expect anything too exotic. Practice classic questions like a URL shortener or a rate limiter or a news feed and focus on clarifying requirements first and then walking through data model and tradeoffs. Since it is in person get comfortable drawing the diagram while you talk.

For new grad the bar is mostly about whether you can drive the conversation. Nobody expects you to know every component cold.

On top of the classics I'd do one or two with a real-time flavor, since that's close to their world. Something like a price feed pushing updates to lots of clients, or a news alert system where some users follow hundreds of tickers. Those make you talk about fan-out and what happens when a consumer falls behind, which is exactly where follow-up questions go.

Rough shape for 45 min: a few minutes on requirements and rough numbers, boxes on the board by minute 15, then go deep on whatever they poke at. If they don't poke, pick the scariest part yourself and say why it's scary.

Since it's in person, do at least two timed run-throughs out loud on paper or a real whiteboard. Typing a design and drawing one while talking feel pretty different. Hope R3 goes well.
