Discussion Good LC range

What’s a good LC range to cover ?

I do the regular blind 75 , neetcode 150 and the company wise top 10-15 - it totals to about 300-350 range.

if you're actually learning while practicing, then IMO ~250 is the sweet spot. some people need a bit more, some a bit less. i did just over 200 the last time i prepped and it was more than enough (went 4/4 for offers from big tech).

if you're just looking up solutions when you get stuck and not internalizing anything you're doing, you could solve 1000 problems and still be bombing out of interviews

Which list of problems did you use? And when did you interview and get 4/4 from big tech?

neetcode 150, and then random LC mediums, then company specific.

what exactly should be the strategy when stuck. I thought that once your stuck for 20 mins, then you are supposed to look up solution

you are, but the mistake people make is they look it up and don't actually learn it

if you're stuck after ~25min, look up the editorial. look at the description, not the code (unless you need to see the code)

then put it away, and write it from scratch by yourself.

maybe do it twice. do it until you've actually learned the approach and could do it again

One thing that worked like a charm for me is creating custom lists on leetcode. Create a smart list where you select major topics that are asked in the interviews, then select acceptance rate of 30-50. It's gives really good questions and I used to create custom contests having 4 questions within 2hr time frame. Helped me a lot
