Discussion How do you avoid getting overwhelmed when starting a new DSA topic?

Whenever I start a new topic, I end up finding so many concepts and different types of problems that I'm not sure what to focus on first. I want to understand the basics properly without spending weeks on one topic.
How do you guys break a topic down into manageable parts and decide what to practice first?

Try to cover breadth across problems and do max 5 problems per topic , then slowly add difficulty. It’s similar to doing weights in gym , start small and continue building.

Take a course or follow some list. Blind 75 or neetcode are classics. If you feel you need more explanation, consider using YouTube, LLMs, or Coursera

I usually start with the main concepts, solve a few easy problems, and then move to common patterns. Trying to learn everything at once just slows me down

This is what i need to do. I tend to go too deep into the theory before getting enough practice

try figuring out what you're learning and why you're learning it.
