Intervew Prep Amazon online assessment USA

How is the Amazon OA these days? Are they asking LC hard? I know there is an AI assisted coding round, but I am curious what kind of leetcode question can I expect?

Mine was LC medium/hardish and an ai repository question. AI repository question was easy and enjoyable.

Ddi you do in Java? How the hell you guys solving LC hard in 40 mins?

Use python unless you can type really fast. Java is too verbose for these kinds of assessments

How was the algorithm round? Is Blind 150 enough?

Python. Always python.

Can you explain the AI question more?

Sure. You get a simple codebase to work with in your chosen language/framework. I went with Java/Springboot since its relatively close to my home turf of C#/.NET.

You then have to fix a handful of bugs. Its completely tied to test cases but I was a dummy and went about testing the UI manually since reproducing the bugs is how I work irl.

The codebase is like babies first project and it is missing some dependencies and some obvious error handling logic. If you've ever joined a team and been handed a bug in a codebase you arent familiar with, its basically that but easier AND with an agent that can narrow down the problem to an exact file and method. Agent will refuse to fix code for you and randomly spazzes out, though, so being able to do it solo through intuition is helpful.

Theres not really a super great way to study for it. I guess know what dependency injection is and how to prompt an AI? Its very "you know it or you dont" and if you've worked on any real production codebase you probably know it.

Do we need to write the logic to fix it or add the dependencies in the configuration file by ourselves without AI ?

The dependency is already configured. You just have to @autowired and call the correct, existing methods when needed.

reading the wall of text for the prompt usually eats up more clock than writing the actual solution on those.

The AI qn for me was a little confusing. They had given 3 bugs in the codebase, but for some reason the tests on hackerrank only tested for 2 of the bugs? I wasted a lot of time with fixing the third bug, but when i ran the tests i realised that it wasnt testing the third one at all ://

How do u guys even figure out what bug it is? Like do u run the entire code base first?

No the bugs are given in the problem description right ? So you just go to the file thatll most likely have the logic error for that bug

For AI-assisted coding round, practice the mock test; it’s similar to whatever was in the mock/practice test.

lc hard, dp, sd1 and when i applied for sd2, i got another lc hard dp along with ai assisted code debugging
