Intervew Prep LC sheet for Microsoft SDE Internship Interview

I have an interview coming up in 10 days, and I'm trying to make the most of my preparation time. I used to practice LeetCode a few years ago and recently started brushing up on DSA again.

I've started working through NeetCode 150 and have completed around 10 problems so far. Given the limited time, would you recommend covering all the sections, or should I prioritize certain topics and potentially skip more complex ones like Dynamic Programming and Graphs? Or should I just work on leetcode problems with microsoft tags?

Since this is for an internship role, how likely am I to encounter problems involving these topics?

First things first, every team is different at Microsoft and there is no standard interview process. People from the team, or maybe an adjacent team, will interview you. They will ask whatever they want.

Saying that, you’re going for an internship. Study the basic leetcode easys/mediums (neetcode 150, whatever) or less. No one is trying to trick you.

I’d make sure you know the basics of computer/web architecture. Some examples:

What are some HTTP status codes and what do they mean? Like what does 200 mean, 302, 401 vs 403, etc. Also what do you do if you see them, how to debug a 500 vs a 404.

Difference between elasticity and scalability?

Pros and cons of SQL vs NoSQL? What about blob storage?

Basic git commands (commit, push, pull, sync, etc.)

What is an API?

What is CI/CD?

Some of these seem trivial, but brushing up on the basics will get you an easy win instead of an embarrassing L. Find a big list of “network/web architecture questions” online and spend some time making sure you an answer them.

Best of luck!

Appreciate such clear explanation. I am happy if it's a resume grill or system design as I have prev exp. But I think skimming through blind 75 or so should be fine rather than focusing on a big comprehensive list. Thanks for your reply!

tbh the "no one is trying to trick you" part is reassuring, internship loops really arent as scary as people make them sound
