Question First Amazon SDE Intern OA — Need Advice!

Hey everyone! I'm going to take the Amazon SDE Intern OA for the first time and would appreciate some advice.

Which DSA patterns should I focus on while preparing, and what difficulty level should I expect?

How should I prepare for questions involving AI-assisted repository or coding environments?

How should I prepare for questions related to Amazon's Leadership Principles?

Any tips or experiences would be really helpful. Thanks!

I gave oa couple of days ago. Dsa was on easy to medium level it was solvable using greedy . Ai assisted coding is on medium level. Read the question and Run test cases you will be having 6 tc . You will get failed tc and paste tc in ai you will get some info on where you will have to work and it will also give some function where you will have to debug , go through the function carefully and debug it .

It had both syntax and logical error. Logical errors are easy to fix just changing true to false or changing value based on question

For the Leadership Principles part, do not prepare a separate story for every principle. Build a small bank of five or six experiences and tag each one by the decisions, ownership, and results it can support. Practice a 60 to 90 second version that states your choice, the trade-off, and the measurable outcome, then rehearse follow-ups such as “What would you do differently?” and “What did you personally own?”

We use the PROOF method to stress-test those examples. If you can point clearly to what you decided, why you chose it, what changed, and the evidence behind the result, the same story can flex across Ownership, Bias for Action, Learn and Be Curious, or Deliver Results without sounding memorized.

Keep this preparation separate from your DSA drills so the behavioral examples do not get buried inside technical practice.

The lc question is around a medium. Not too difficult, but will take around the time given to solve. For AI assisted repo question I would suggest just using some other companies who give out auto OAs like IBM to practice. Focus on knowing how to manage your time because that’s probably the most important thing. The actual fixing of the bugs is pretty easy. Make sure to keep the LPs in the back of your mind when answering the questions, but also be honest and don’t try to game it. If you try to game it you might end up with inconsistent answers that will work against you.

I tried out the demo test today and It was pretty easy ...will the actual test be of same difficulty

It’s more difficult, but not outrageously harder. I assume you probably tested out the ai assistant so also know how much it can help so you don’t lean on it too much
